Hey. Here are a few recent drawings of mine. They are quite large, but I wanted to see the detail...So...uh...Forgiveness, please!
Yeah....this one's old...but I wanted to see it next to the others.
Comments or critiques are welcome. |

Pretty cool stuff! It looks like something out of a story book, but I bit more detached and scary. I like it quiet a bit |

wow, thats a really interesting style you have. and ya, its like out of a medival story book or something.
how about making those lines darker, almost like an ink with maybe a blue line overlay or something?

Very cool.
I would suggest trying some of what you are doing here as a drypoint/intaglio.
Intaglio prints == love.
PS, you might enjoy picking up a book on the history of printmaking, esp. ones with lots of reproductions of rembrandt's etchings, and that famous 15th century german woodcut master whose name i can't remember for some reason.

jabber: Thanks. But it's probably a no-go on making the lines darker. All my instructors tell me to make them lighter. Or did you mean something along the inks of inking them? that's what all the comic guys I talk to suggest.
I'm just a huge fan of pencil sketches, there's nothing better in my opinion. But, when I color an image I've finished as a drawing digitally, I pretty much lose the crosshatching all together...And then everybody says they like the sketch better anyway...and so forth. So nowadays, I don't render my pencil drawings unless I know I won't go on to a colored piece.
But if anyone has any ideas on how to help me get my ultra crosshatchy pencil realized in full color (I've been able to be monochrome alright alright) it would be much appreciated. I just have yet to pull it off.
Dryfire: Cool. Thanks, man. I'll try to make it back into chat sometime soon!
Zorglub: That's what I like to hear...hehe. Thank you.
klaivu: Thanks! I'm a big fan of your stuff so that means a lot.
extralobe: I get the printmaking comments a lot. My portfolio teacher whats me to give up on digital and do printmaking instead. I really like etching, so I'll refrain from bad-mouthing it, but I'm not the biggest fan of it. I've done (I think three) etchings in the past. Great stuff there though, I'd like to do them again when I get the chance.
I'm a major fan of William Blake's etchings. Fantastic stuff. I'm not sure exactly what an intaglio print is though. |
