Pretty good for your first completed CG work.
It's 4:30 in the morning so I might be missing something, but I only have 2 beefs with this piece:
1) The face needs to be redone, the nose is barely there and she has no pupils.
2) The left side (her right) of her leather skirt could be a smoother line. |

Thanks Lomi, The face i had heaps of trouble with, no-matter how much i tried i couldn't get it right, but its a bit better than previously. I did ask somebody to do me a re-draw, but no-one did. looks like shes eaten a lemon, but i'm fed up with it now, so i think its time to start something new |

hmm..ya i agree with the face comment...the head in general is pretty good...hair could use abit of work...and the arm pulling the string back...it looks kinda weirded..i think itd look less weirded if you didnt have her left arm there...and just show the hand...coz when you pull the bow back your elbow is usually behind the body...and so is the rest of your arm...other then that its a pretty good start |

Hi Swany
Nice work it has a nice athmosphere, but never use Black as a shadow color. It looks like you used black to draw the shadows on her skin. That makes everything look dirty, but not shadowed. For example: (in Photoshop) pick the skin color and use some shades darker as the skin color to add the shadows. The same for the trousers and so on |

Oh, the cricket! Yeah, ripped off! I didn't see it, but I did see Australia have to beat a crazy score of 7 for 534 against New Zealand. Did they win? (I've been dying to know all week)
VERY nicely coloured, esp. for a first photoshop pic, SWANY. The way you've rendered the hair, fur vest and grass background looks great.
You're gonna hate me for pointing this out, but she's holding her bow wrong if she's drawing it back. The arrow usually rests on top of the right hand with the thumb holding it against the bow. The left hand holds the arrow between the thumb and the index and middle fingers. It'll be importatnt to know because after Lord of the Rings comes out, everyone with know how to draw a frikkin bow properly. |

Hey thanks guys
N8: Everything that you said is true, there are 2 reasons why I'm not going to fix it 1. i cant be bothered and 2. i flattened all the layers (thats a poor excuse, i know. mainly the first reason) This was more of a learning process piece, I think a tablet would come in handy for the finer details, it would be quicker too.
Bear Bonez: I like good comments rather than crits Your my friend!
EBE: yeah I really noticed this when i was doing the face, I think thats one of the reasons why i had trouble with it, but as i said, learning experience.
HighFive: Damn You! I was hoping no-one would spot the arrow part, It's funny how the arrow just sits next to the bow in mid air. I've actually got a compound bow at home, and the arrow sits like that, but it doesn't make sense in this pic.
Oh and Australia drew the series, they went for the win, Ghilchrist hit a 6,4,4,4 in an over to go for the win, but then hit the ball strait on to the bowlers stumps to get Steve Waugh out. they decided to go for the draw. |
