Real nice compositing. A few things... first your character should absorb more of the amber light that is illuminating your desk.
Also the pose could be adjusted a bit. I would think about moving the left hand away from his face. It would read a lot better.
The shadow could also use a little blue.
Also a little depth of field blur would really add a lot of realism.
Looks great. |

I'd have to agree on giving the character a little more warm lighting, and adding a blur to stuff further back; but in general, its great! It also made me laugh .

Increase the shadow-map resolution... I noticed some small artifacts on the left side of his body (our right). If you created the character in Maya, go to the attribute editor for the lights and set the default resolution (512) to about 1024 or 2048. If you created this guy in Max, Lightwave or something else, I can't tell you how to do it .
If that doesn't solve the problem, maybe you should increase the poly-resolution on the character.
Other than that minor thing, and the slightly off lighting: it's VERY cool. Great character design. You should animate him!!! Keep up the good work.

I really liked the idea, so I hope you don't mind I messed around with the image a bit in photoshop. The main thing that is missing here with the image is the lighting. the scene has a completely different look than the cg object. try adding some orange lights coming from the monitor, or maybe some yellow lights coming from the ground. Another thing you have to be aware of is that the cg object has some black shading going all around edge that really pulls it out of the background, maybe you could increase the ambiant to get rid of that outline. Also just a tip for cg lighting, NEVER use white lights, always make them slighty a color. You'l never see a pure white light in real life.
I added a orange fill light and a yellow key light to try to stick the object in the scene better. I also did a little depth of field but its very mild. I painted it really quick, so don't mind the brush strokes.
