Note: NOT MY WORK!
I enjoy the great talent that all of you have, and have been here multiple times to check the great work. Yet i would like to get your opinions on the following pieces (since you disliked the others) as i said i did NOT create this, i just wanted criticism on how they look.

second pic i like, rest is poop
reason being:
second pic - actual work involved in creating ORIGINAL models and textures, and composition
rest of pics - MeshSmooth'ed models from cs wount cut it, even if you render it with GI
PS: actually.. that might not even be original stuff in second pic, so that makes thise whole pack of pictures a bunch of poop.
ps2: this isnt the best CS art.. there are some good looking ones that actually involve art

The pictures are really all quite bad.
The bullets in the third picture (first two dont load) are horrible and try chamfering some of the edges. |

The first pic is an interesting concept, though a hackneyed one. The rendering looks like a video game, which is not such a good concept. Video games look bad, because they have to. When doing fan art, why not make the art what the designers and players imagine: real people in real environments, not low-poly models.
I have no opinion on the second. The third seems pointless and -again- rendered like a game. Maybe in thirty years it'll be cooly retro.
The fourth seems like a box cover or something. Aside from the art, the writing is hackish. "Broken Story"? "Spiteful Mist"? "Horison of fate" (which is spelled incorrectly)? If you're trying to make a dramatic point, then put some drama into it, not bad rips of old cliches.
The last one? No real opinion, unless you were designing these for a game or something, in which case they look ok.
Of course, I'm no fan of fan art, except those movies people make right from the Quake engine. Those are funny. |
