I'm desperatly trying to finish a art history essay on HR Giger and I'd like to know if anyone in the forum lists Giger as thier influence (either major or minor).
It'd be really really helpful to me if you could just post stating major or minor and a URL to your website (so I have some proof that i haven't just made up the statistics)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Peace |

when I was younger I was entertained by the detail in his work, but I've purchased a book of his stuff and find it all quite repetitive and aimed at shock value. he uses the same shapes, ideas, and colors throughout and it really becomes a pain to look at after a while. some of his stuff is nice, and it definitely (when new) was original, but he never evolves and stagnateds in schlock in my opinion. par example- 2 major things he re-uses are the alien/phallus head creature, and the skull head train. he uses the train on 3 different projects and the alien type thing he uses in species, alien/s/3/ressurection, and in various other earlier works. |

Not really influenced. Often it's even too gross for my taste. ;p
Edit:
Minor, that is. =}
