OK, I'm going to see how far I get in the 500 list. And yes, I'm gonna try to do all of them, and just have one thread. To keep the load times down I'm gonna post in batches, and whenever I post a new batch I'll convert the last batch into text links. sound good? Great. Oh, and one more rule for myself - no more than 10 minutes on any picture. Here's the first two night's work:
Mountain Goat:

Solar Eclipse:

Whew! That dancers one I didn't have time to get values for the figure, cause I focused on the figure form itself. Ah well, more coming soon, much to your dismay! ^_^

I wonder if the two who originaly had the idea (gecko and janne-right?)
finished their pics.?
I only saw them doing up to 130 or something.
Someone has a link?
Everybody starts so enthusiastic but soon one become lazy...me too

good luck!

Pretty good, Anthony. Sorry for the lack of crits.

By the way, where and what is this 500 list?

Hey guys, thanks for the encouragement! It's a tall task, but I feel up to it, doing 5/night I'm pacing myself. I'll only stop if I get a big freelance gig, or the call from ILM or somewhere ;] Here're tonight's pics. Tough topics again, because of how much anatomy is involved in animals. The fire one took 4 minutes, the others went the full 10.
People Running:

People Riding Horse:

Horse Riding Truck:

Log Truck:
http://antsin3d.com/500/014-logtrucks.jpg
Logs On Fire:
http://antsin3d.com/500/015-logfire.jpg

I'm thinking I might give more thought to what I'm gonna paint before I start-will probably help me out in getting more interesting pieces. Also, I need to pick my cursed light sources before I start, that'll save mucho time!

OK, after a 12:10AM showing of Monsters Inc(the Birds short was better than the movie...) I still managed to do my nightly 5 pics. These went quickly, no animals or people to draw made it simple. Course, being on my 21st hour of waking, and running on 3.5 hours of sleep makes me a little tired. :]

That's it, more tommorrow. I'm considering taking one topic a day and spending more time on it, and then doing the usual speed thing with the other 4. Mmmm...

Got a little earlier start tonight on these, and I'm happy with all but the people swimming one(eyh, heart wasn't in it ^_^). I took 20 on the first one, and standard 10 on the rest.

Those are great. I feel humbled now, having started doing the 500 list a few days ago and having produced nothing better than this: http://www.sijun.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=002257

Anyways, I have to agree that just a tiny bit more detailing would help the pictures a lot. Just add 2 minutes of detailing to the 10 minutes you spend on each piece and these will rock the world.

Aww shucks, you guys are embarassing me! Keep it up Horstenpeter, we can only improve!! You're getting good critiques too! I'm gonna be picking one each time to do well. Tonight I got to the last two and started kooking it, cause I got tired out. Without further ado:

Nice job, interesting stuff. Only ten minutes per pic too! I really liked the 'mountgoat' pic.

I had difficulty getting into these tonight. I dunno, I feel like two different people, doing nice stuff sometimes and crap the rest of the time. I got one decent one though, the second one down.

Hey Anthony! Nice to see your still doing art! You still in Orlando? Not sure if you remember me, back in the day you had your antsin3d stuff doing lightwave and we talked a few times, I had a 3d-grafix.com website.. I'm attending art college now at the ripe old age of 29.. I'm gonna get good damnit!

Hey Dekard! I'll be honest, I don't remember ya off the cuff. :] I'm still in Orlando, yah, working on a new demo reel. I'm trying to improve my painting right now too. These speedy ones are hard, but I think I'm in a groove tonight. Actually I just did them earlier, so that I wasn't sleep working. I took my time with the first one, and by the second and third I was sick of buildings.

Posted the link to the list at the top. Feelin good, my painting's undergoing a metamorphosis before my eyes. I dunno if it's a change for the better yet, we'll see-it's definately different tonight though.

OK, I spent a bit more time on this one, because I decided to just do one tonight, try to think over what I've learned doing the ones so far. Came out OK I think...I think. :]

I'm gonna post this one in the main speed pics thread too, just to contribute to that wonderful thread!
Just editing in this next one, no need to pop the thread back to the top.

OK, we're up to 50! The two ship ones I spent more than 10 minutes on, but the last three are all 10 minuters. Trying to focus on the more important stuff, like defining form, and really thinking about the shapes and color values.

I'm really happy with how the wedding one came out, and these two are nice too. I give all the credit to Spooge, he made me think about the basic shapes first. Thanks Craig! I've gotta keep pushing myself, I have a lot of catching up to do.

Thought I was gone didn't ya? :] I just decided to take some time with some, go fast on others. The first and the last in this batch were 10 minuters, the middle ones 30-45 minutes. The desert one was a paint because I spent all my time working out perspective and keeping edges clean(so it's sparse).

And the full rez of the humid and water cities:
