Try to draw volumes not shapes. I'd stay off coloring for a while, untill you get the sketching part down better. Don't try to guess anatomy its apparent, study it preferrably out of anatomy books (Bridgman, Hamm). If you do decide to use color paint with a paintbrush, i've never seen anything descent looking come out from under ps airbrush.
Sketch a lot. Draw volumes not shapes. |

Try to decide where your light sources will be before you paint. If you have light areas facing in different directions, the image can look very confusing.
I agree with what Jacks True Self says, too. For instance, the back of his head only has a sharp green hilight. If his head is meant to be vaguely spherical in shape, the change from light to dark should be much smoother. |

did someone ask for a paint over?
the contrast in your original drawing was too high, also his chin looks kinda funky small. look at some anatomy books, muscles don't go that way. i know it's a profile of the arm, but it's way too confusing the way you have it. in the paint over i tried to make the pose alittle more dynamic.
anywho, i kinda like the idea, teen hulk. keep them coming! the jpg compression kinda killed some of the colors. |
