I found the pose for the pouncing rat somewhere on the Internet, in a gallery of lab rat photographs...but I annoyingly can't find it again, so I can't tell you where it is.

I had to finish this tonight, because I've got to get all 8 bad rat pictures done and printed by Tuesday...hope it doesn't look too half-assed. I had originally drawn the rat pouncing on a really ugly bird, but the bird looked silly, so I took it out.

I think you really ought to do a Hunca Munca if you're going to seriously cover your bases in the Bad Rat thing.

Doesn't look half-assed to me. The eyes look a little weird to me though.

The swirling marble-like wood-stain in the background looks very classy! Thats' the first thing that caught my eye. I like the old brassy bumped metal texture on the rat, too.

It is hard to figure out what the rat is doing. I can't tell if it's crawling through the air or bringing it's legs together to land after pouncing.

Hey socar myles hows it going. You do commissions right? If you dont mind me asking what type of pictures do poeople ask you to do ?? If it is something other than RATS. Do you think we or I could see some of these commissions IF you are aloud to show that is. I just dont remembre seeing any picture from you Other than something that revolves around the theme of RAT...

Would be very much appreciated...

Good work keep it up.. i like all these rats of yours..

Well, here are links to a couple of recent non-rat (or very nearly non-rat) commissions:

I've been spending most of my time working on illustrations for fantasy RPG sourcebooks lately, though...and I can't show those images until after publication. I did five pictures for Dragonstar by Fantasy Flight Games, due out next month, and I'm working on a set of forty full-page illustrations for Misguided Games. None of these pictures have rats in them.
