You wanted the list, here goes:

I don't think the sky should be that grayish at the top. If it's supposed to be some kind of polluted world, then it should be more red i think.
And the color of the right cloud should be more brownish like the lower left cloud in the center, since it looks like it's going inward, against the sun.

and where's the lensflare?!?

The snow on the foreground mountains seems too uniform, almost like a pattern... maybe it's just me, tho. Also, what has been said before, the top of the sky doesn't look right. Are there two suns, maybe? All in all pretty awesome pic, and it might be even better with a few simple corrections.

cheers.

Hi!

I haven't really posted anything in the last few months. And I haven't had too much time over for painting anything either... :(
Anyways, here's something I made a some nights ago. It took a couple of hours and it was quite fun to make. I don't think I will do anything more to this one, but some comments and crits would be nice :)

pro-phet, I used Photoshop to paint this pic, along with my wacom. As for the sun reflection being correct or not hmm... I dunno. but I suppose it could be correct, the reflection should probably be wider and more diffuse though.

Slicer, haha polluted world... hmm.. it says winter landscape at sunset in the topic if I remember correct :) It's actually meant to be very non-polluted, a man-has-never-set-foot-here kindof landscape. Is the color of a cloud decided by in which direction it's headed? I thought when I painted it, that the warmer cloud was further away from the viewer and a less dense cloud, and thus it got a warmer color.. a little bit too warm I think.

Mr. T - You're pretty right about the foreground mountains, they were the last thing I painted and it was in the middle of the night and I had to go to school the day after.. so I kindof rushed it.
About the sky again.. here's a little photo I found of a similar sky. The colors are pretty close to my pic. I think that that grey should transit into a colder hue at the top though... well, well.. here's the photo:

Thanx for the replies!

/Jim

Isn't that a late sunrise? Sunsets are generally much more darker.

SPike.CoM, yeah.. now that you say it hmm... when I painted this I thought of it as a sunset. But the more I look at it now, a few days after it looks like a sunrise.

Very nice... I like the way there are consistant shapes throughout the picture... in the rocks, snow, clouds and sky. Very well done, and at 2 hrs... superb
