It was actually a speed painting and took around 45 minutes from a photo I have in a National Geographic.
I'm not going to work on it anymore probably, and I like the style of being able to see the fat brush strokes so please dont crit those it was simply a practice to get the hang of a tablet.
Is my basic technique decent?

Dude, in all seriousness, what you just did was quite admirable.
After all the flack you took earlier with your more .... x-rated work, you didn't let it phase you, and you put your skills towards something that people here would appreciate a lot more. Seriously, that was a pretty cool thing to do.
Anyway, about your painting... I like your brushwork, it seems pretty confident. I also think you got the shapes relatively correct, which is great. I would definitely like to see more time spent on the water though, it sorta just looks like scribbles right now. Water has shapes too, don't let preconceptions dictate what your brush does. All in all, I think this is quite good. Keep it up man! |

THANKS Corn Pops!
I know that that "other" painting was more of a joke and was a cheap overpaint and all in all was a bad move; so instead of regiester a new name and start fresh again, I'm going to attepmt to regain what little respect I had by default before I posted anything.
Thanks to your pleasing reply, I'll work on the water more and see if I can get it a little more realistic.
Thanks again |
