For some reason I just felt like drawing my little sister's toy-poodle, Lucy. I did use a photo reference (which I took with a digital camera), and I've included a link to that below. Since this is the first time I've ever tried to paint a dog, most likely the picture has some problems. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some critiques and constructive criticism. Thanks.

that's a toy?! freaky.
your drawing's forehead is a bit large, and the face is somehow a little less rat-like than the photo. something about the legs doesnt seem right either.
what you might want to do is add some darker hair around the nose, mouth and eyes, as that seems to be what the photo-dog has.
i like how you didnt over-saturate the light from the blinds. the fur you did really nicely, too. |

Icannon: Um, like Corn Pops said, toy-poodle is the dog breed ;P. Anyway, I kind of like the way my version looks more teddy bearish and less rat like...Hmmm, what exactly is wrong with the legs and what do you think I should do to fix them? Well, thank you for your comments.
