well ok. there has been lame shows on t.v. for quite a while, but man is it ever getting worse. i was hoping to watch some family guy tonight, but no. fox has come up with yet another lame "gameshow" type thing called the "glutton bowl". hopefully that was the last we'll ever see of it. it was an eating compition and personaly i found it quite gross. they had to eat things like whole blocks of butter or cow tongues and all that sort of stuff. it was just gross watching these people stuff there faces, then of course they all look like slobs with the food all over themselves. anyone else think this is just stupid? anyone else watch it? i could only stand a few minutes of it.

anyway i just had to rant about it.

Hey that means we will be getting the same format over here real soon too. I LOVE the US for their valued cultural export!
The off-button on the remote needs reassessment, and I'm getting very good at that.

I stopped watching TV ages ago. If I want to see something I rent it or download it or in some cases buy it.

TLC is the only channel worth watching on TV. It hass everything police chases, female nudity, robots, crazy machines, stuff that you actually learn from....etc

The of the TV channel are just full of failed sitcom and old gameshow.

Any 1 here watch "Junkyard Wars" ?

I can't believe they would cancel The Family Guy for that?? Along the same lines: what's with stupid game shows anyway? "The Chair" and now this "Glutton Bowl" thing? WTF???

My opinion:
Thats what the FOX channel is for!!
Mindless tv shows, and they only get more and more mindless. Today I don't have school and wanted to watch the alfred hitchcock show, I went to watch it and all they have now is Sally and Maury! Instead of Family Guy (which was pretty low, but had its moments) they have Glutton Bowl, which disgusts me even more. I'm guessing that TV is degrading at a factor of 10 everyday. Then there was the chair and the chamber... now thats even worse...

Exept for PBS... its increasing (they canceled Red Dwarf for a show about Feng Shui?! Now my week doesn't amount up to anything anymore!)

Well, there is the occasional moment when you catch the end of MadTV on Fox, but other than that...I've never seen anything worth watching on there.

There are some more local channels that have some good shows, and on weekdays (I think) George Carlin's on Bravo at 9:00. Very few shows I watch besides CSI. I usually surf the 'net.

I watch almost no TV nowadays. I watch Cartoon Network(wooo, adult swim!), the History Channel, 24, the simpsons(sometimes), Combat Missions, and I DID watch The Tick but they cancelled it!!! For the most part, TV is utter crap.

Dr. Bang: When is there female nudity on TLC?

I think the worst thing FOX has ever aired was the Moon Landing Hoax show, where they brought a bunch of "experts" on stage to preach that the moon landing never happened.

I actually know people who believed the people on that show..

"Duhayy, why arent there stars in the film and photo footage??" Anyone who knows anything about photography knows the answer to that..

I'm a bit like Svanur, TV is history for me.
The reason why I stopped watching almost all programs, is a very funny story; here goes: few months ago we had a huge storm, and heavy snow cut off all cable and telephone lines for a week. First tow days without tv was horrible, the third day, I felt like reading books again. And paff!.... tv was back again, I tried watching again, the first movie I saw was "Planet of the Apes", man what a shitty movie!!!
Now I spend my time drawing, skiing and reading.
TV is crap that's true. If out of 100 channels you get one good one, it's not even worth zapping to find it.
Reading is so relaxing and educational.

Depends on the area you live in. Every city has different channels that are available for free. The most popular are ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, and FOX..

network tv is a joke, its not that quality shows are not being made...because they are.

its just that they never make it to air. i swear to god i have boxes upon boxes of promos that leave some of the best movies out there looking like shit.

cbs is a prime example of this evil, they pull quality shows all the time for the most mind numbing of reasons: a sponser doesnt like one of the plotlines in a single episode, a clueless ceo doesnt like a single storyboard presentation so they scrap the entire thing?!
and if they dont pull it, they force mediocrity upon it by drowning it with christian morality...

anything made by fox or faux or cocks is absolute shit especially when it comes to movies...cause they rush them as fast as possible (sacrificing its quality) so they can air worthless "behind the scene" or "making of" fucking crap. and their news reporting is worse than hitlers mien kampf. they only thing worth while on fox is the simpsons.

abc=shit
nbc=shit
upn=shit

even movie channels are fucking gay...you would think being hbo you get to see the whole movie...but fuck no! they edit it for time.

t.v. is fucking gay

tlc is ok only because or their ER shows. but then again you never get to see any of the good stuff. id rather pull a 12 or 24 hour shift and see it for myself in an ER, than sit infront of the tube straining my eyes to see some dudes open femur fracture.

My parents just got a new flat screen, Toshiba, good picture quality, too bad I don't have any use for the damn thing. Every once and a while I'll sit down and watch Duckman, or Ren and Stimpy if they are ever on. Now the TV in my house is used to keep my sister anchored to the couch eating some snack food for hours at a time. I also watch the BBC news on channel 21 some nights, On sunday nights I'll watch Nature on PBS. Oh yeah, I'll watch rally racing on the Speedvision network, at my dads house since he has about 500 channels. I get my news off the net, or NPR radio

Glutton bowl was halarious! I loved the suschi competition hahaha, when they hit that 1ft of wasabi, they were all about to give up

But man, the championship rnd (cow brains), I can't believe that 130lb or whatever guy won. I guess it is all mind over matter, because the 440lb guy didn't come close.

I think he must have had 40-45 cow brains.
