i had a chance to meet him at the warner brothers store a few years ago. the line was so long i didn't make it in time.
those cartoons he did were really something. even that upa cartoon he did supporting Roosevelt was kinda cool. his cartoons had a certain sophistication about them that could be enjoyed on many levels. remember the dot and the line?

his cartoons are timeless. i remember watching those when i was young. they were the best and still are the best. i'm sure they will still be around when i have kids.

i wonder if the cartoon network or teletoon will do a tribute to chuck jones and play a ton of old loony toons and what not. that would be nice.

He was the first name I always saw when watching cartoons as a kid, and one name that we will always remember.

He inspired a lot of people and was one of the backbones of Animation.
God will surely have mercy on his soul.

Chuck Jones has been an ispiration to me my whole life. He has touched my heart and brought true happiness to my life. Lets take a moment to recognize the man himself and all of the wonderful characters he shared with us.

“ A small child once said to me: ‘You don’t draw Bugs Bunny, you draw pictures of Bugs Bunny.’ That’s a very profound observation because it means that he thinks the characters are alive, which, as far as I am concerned, is true,” --Chuck Jones

Thank you Chuck. My heart goes out to all his family and friends (of which I'm sure he had many). Chuck Jones was not only an animator, but a dream creater, and an inspiration to us all. His legacy will live on in the souls of children and adults alike forever.

“Animation isn’t the illusion of life; it is life.”
--Chuck Jones

He really should've gone out in some kind of Acme rocket misfire, or by stepping off a cliff and not realizing it right away.

He was, is, and ever shall be, The Man.

balistic: Thanks for bringing some humor to a sad thread. And you're right, I hope he's buried with an anvil.

Man o man. What he contributed to the western culture of the 20th century is immeasurable.

The guys at Shane's Drawing Board must be crying their eyes out right now.
