It was late and I was tired. Sometimes a drawing can come purely out of falling asleep I guess.

nice. there's nothing wrong with dodge and burn if it's put to good use. i think maybe you should show more of the side of his face and hair. the form kind of dies out unnaturally. the eyes are looking quite scary and beast-like because very little 'white' is showing, but maybe that was intended. |

Yeah I know dodge and burn isn't usually considered by most people to be the best way to go about drawing, but its fun and can be done fairly quickly, and works for me, which was really the only three things I wanted to consider when making this image; it was just a quick pic I did for fun. I tried adding color but thought it lost some of the mood.
As for the eyes, that was intentional. Well, I didn't mean for him to look like a "beast"... but i was thinking it gave him sort of a look of tiredness, like he's not necessarally thinking about anything or looking at anything. At first there was a lot more white around the pupils, but it looked too much like he was contemplating something, rather than just being weary like I wanted. |
