Announcing :: set to launch :: midnight 10.31.01 (hallow's eve)

IMAGINARY REALMS: The Art of Luis Diaz http://www.ldiaz.com
Imaginary Realms is the promotional new website featuring the artwork of Miami-based artist Luis Diaz.
Diaz's work is both dark and surreal; highly evocative, conceptual and at times both emotional and political.
The site features a wide range of work: comics, paintings, illustrations and even his initial concepts and
preliminary sketches. Designed by Atomic Bubble, (Washington DC), Imaginary Realms is not only a promotional
website for the artist but an engaging experience for the viewer as well. It explores merely a sliver of Diaz's complex and extensive body of work; a glimpse into Diaz's mind and creative depths that have come to be called, his Imaginary Realms. Enter the Darkness... www.ldiaz.com

Ditto what cybertoker said. I loved the flash presentation of your site. It's awesome and very professional. You know I have always like your art since I first saw it at Nicks Asylum Forums. |

great, i just hope you didn't write the press release yourself . then again... some people enjoy referring to themselves in third person.
i just had a question, where are the images stored? my popupkiller kills your image popups . if i know the location of the images then i can exclude it. since it's in flash i can't access the image urls. |

Well, my site isn't much so I can't talk, but- I found it a little slow and confusing. |

You have a pretty good collection of work there, I just can't get enough of "Siamese Scream", it's so Francis Bacon-esque. |

Wow.. what a cool experience.
Your designer did a wonderful job. I totally dig the design. Very cool. The resolutions of your pics are quite small though, almost thumbnail-ish. I'd like to see your work displayed a little less timidly. Other than that, I think it kicks ass. |

i agree with greenpeach on the slowness. flash is kind of annoying as it is, but slow flash...
i think u could speed up the some of the transition animations a bit.
as for the artwork, simply fantastic stuff. i'm just dissapointed they are so small! you should do all of us a favor and prove some higher resolution images.
hopefully the resulting bandwidth requirements won't deter you! ^_^ |

I Have a 56k modem and don't care how much it takes to load, what bugs me is the size of the pictures, it goes against every rule, your designer is making you loose a lot of the impact in your images, they should at least cover the main menu (the window), that's no hard thing to do |

I think the one thing that's missing is text.... It would be great if you said a little about some of those pictures...maybe had a short paragraph in the popup windows along with the art. |

I will let my designer know your thoughts, but one of the reasons it is small is so it won't take that much time to load between categories. |

I think that's a great idea Socar.
Yes Luis, you should add some text to those puppies.
I think the image size is fine. Plus, your guaranteeing that no one can down load high res images from your site for free. It's a good way to insure you won't find a poster of one of your paintings somewhere that was made without your permission.
Know what I'm sayin'?
It would be nice to see some info next to those images though. At least the medium, size, etc.
Take it easy,
