at work i need to work on a Mac, with a UMAX Astra flatbed, using the program Vista scan that came with the scanner.
the scanner has a lamp on the bottom, as always, but also has one on the other side, the "flap". Ive never seen this before, but i suspect this to be an extra lamp for scanning sheets or slides (which comes in handy), am i right? Ive been looking for an option in vistascan but cant find anything.
another fact is that shiny photos appear distorted at the edges sometimes, due to the light shining thru where normally is a white board, placing a paper on top reduces it.
im hoping someone here can tell me more about this machine, noone else knows. thanks
