I'd comment on your piece however it seems like the site you uploaded them to is dead at the moment. You should upload them to another server (that works preferably ). |

Well it isn't so bad... I wouldn't say it sucks. Your colors are good, but they are some major problems with anotomy. What I would do is spend more time setting up the drawing, making sure your proportions are correct and accurate before trying to lay down tone. I would also just do black and white. Color seems to confuse the issue, and I think you focus and portraying the image accurately (or at least, how you want) before adding another complex element such as color.
Hope it helps. |

After seeing the reference, I see where you were going with it, but after seeing only the painted version, I was wondering about the hood part. It looked like it was supposed to be part of her hair.. It's a good start, though.
If you're using Photoshop, try opening the photo and turn grids on... Get a new canvas and turn the grid on on that, too. Try filling in each square to match... It makes it easier to get all the proportions and everything to match when working directly from a reference...
Eventually, it'll be easier to just draw straight from the reference and know the ratios. It'll also help get the shapes to match better. |
