hey all. i've been lurking around here for awhile, finally decided to post some of my own stuff. this one is a photo manipulation, but i did take the photo, so i'm not a complete hack. it's also refreshingly devoid of 1) jumbles of shapes, 2) other images inside the image, and 3) obscure text all over the place. hope you enjoy, crits and comments would be appreciated.

Well, to me it just looks like a darkened photo. Maybe you did more to it than just darken it, but if it's unnoticeable then it was probably not worth it. However, I like it because it looks like a scene from Goldeneye for N64. The room in the Facility directly across from the stairs outside the bathroom, the room with the security door controls. Yeah. Looks like that. |

hardly a manipulation... I would have tried to pass it off as "untouched" =D
anywho It works for me. When I saw it I though "hell no! I am not going in there" makes ya wonder whats on the other side,
Good work |

It does look very realistic and non-manipulated

*Quickly makes a 180 and skitter off. immediatly followed by knocking herself out running in a nearby wall when going for the light switch.*
Guess I'm still a bit afraid of dark hallways. Who's that in the doorframe ?

heh, thanks for the comments guys. i can understand where you're coming from when you say it doesn't look very manipulated; i only did a few things to it (made the light a little rounder, dirtied the pic up a bit, and made my friend in the doorframe there look a little scarier) but i think i made him a little too dark, as only i think one person even saw him. in any case, thanks for kind of indirectly pointing that out, i'll be sure to take differences in screen brightness and such into consideration on my next pieces.
thanks again,

sure, he's the original, resized a bit for convenience (twas quite large):
as you can see, there really was a substantial amount of manipulation, in the ways of lighting, and the stuff i already mentioned. this room in the picture is the kitchen of an old abandoned shack of a home i found next to my friends house. its a photographers dream, as whoever used to live there left a whole lot behind (dishes, furniture, etc) which makes for a really creepy and intresting environment.

I think that would be a cool origional photo if you shot that guy out of there, he kinda makes it look like a joke. |
