it's 5:00am, long night,

just a quick post, would love to get some feedback and critiques, lighting, composition, first impressions.

I like the shading style that's coming along. would like to clean up the forground elements but i think i'll keep it rough to contrast the clean bunny. will definatly redo the smaller rabbits on the ground, they were rendered to give a quick idea of perpective and tentative lighting.

i haven't had much luck with feedback before, so here's a bit about me if your interested. started painting digitally first and went traditional about 7 months ago, this is definately one of my better pieces in terms of completion of an idea and execution. I'm happy with the look of the piece, with a bit more work it will look a bit less digital and more traditional.

studied film and computer animation down in san diego, but as all starving artists, must find a way to pay the bills so am working at ACE hardware in the bay area.

my goal, find a way to make a living off art.

MONEY IS NOT THE GOAL. be happy and respect each other.

peace and love,

hope to hear from all you talented folk out there.

in order for progress mistakes must be made.

I cant really give you any constructive critisism but I do think it looks nice. Pretty good depth and I like how it seems that you are peeking out through the bushes at something you shouldn't be seeing.

good work

I like this image... it makes me grin when I look at it

My only crit is that the balance seems to be leaning to the left a little too much. The tree is heavier on the left, the white bunnies are heavier on the left and of course there's the sun and the bird. He's even tilting his head to the left.

I think perhaps you could just shift the sun to the other side and fix your problem, but I don't know for sure. Balance has often been a problem of mine

Beth

I would fix that one branch that forms a tangent with the sun . . . tangets like that are usually something to avoid.

Also, its seems like the tree horks up the silhouette of the bunny . . . I would either darken it or lighten it . . . something to pull it away from the value of the rabbit.

Otherwise, I really dig it. LAGOMORPHS UNITE!!!

thanks for the feedback, i'll spend some time tonight cleaning up the image. I think i may remove the little blue bunnies below and have the focus be on the main rabbit only.

will post the new one later.

maybe i'm crazy, but i like the blue-white bunnies best out of everything in the picture. they have a nice lumpy quality to them, they remind me of the little spirit-guys in princess mononoke (mononoke hime)...
