Hi everyone,
Good to see Sijun back in action.

Thought I would put some storyboards I've done on here. (the last page's scene is still a little unworked out).

These are a little over detailed as storyboards go, but they were done also as an exercise to develop on a quicker loose painting style whilst working with sequentials. I still plan on doing a few more pages on this but here's these for now.

c&c is welcome.

(Sorry bout the large download, wanted to post them at a fairly decent quality)

I think the story boards are nice and they capture all the movement well... my only crit (and I'm sorry to say that for me personally, it's a fairly big crit ) that the story here is terribly cliche. Pretty much every frame is predictable. Dunno... maybe it's just me. I just feel like I've seen this same thing over and over and over again :/

Technique-wise I think it's pretty interesting. I've never seen a storyboard colored like this

I LOVE IT!

The style is very original. I could tell whats going on without word bubbles! Which in story boards for say comics is very important. Can you tell the basics of whats going on without needing to be told. And this happens in your pics! Id love to see more! Keep up the great work!

Jezebel- Yes, I agree I'm no Clive Barker ;P, But as I said these were done mainly as an excercise to develop on my painting style and show a sequence of events. Not really to tell a meaningfull or original plot/story.

Maybe I should of explained before that the idea was based around a b-movie style theme. If you know what I'm talkin about they are pretty silly and cliched ;P

SynrrG, thanks Glad you liked them.

So what happens next? Does Meatloaf turn up on his bike and start kicking some arse?

Awesome! You've got a cool watercolour painting style that must be pretty quick but gets the idea across nicely!

What's the story behind this creature and the woman? Why are they fighting? Putting detail into the background to show where they are would add more interest into this scene. The woman ATM looks like she's similar to Sarah Connor in T2. Clues to her past like symbolic jewelery, particular wounds or some kind uniform will help make the audience interested in your character. Same for the monste, too.

When's it going to show in the cinemas, dude?

This is wonderful work. I love storyboards and these are particularly lovely. (oh dear god, why am I using the word "lovely"?)

Very nice colors and your renderings of the bats motion are beautiful. My favorites are the bats reaction to being shot at, the close up of its face, jaws and the scene where it is crouched down on the ground. If you have any more of these or other story board work, please put it up.

As it was loading I was more and more impressed. As you stated it's not a theory of storyboarding exercise, etc. This aside, I think you captured the movement nicely especially on the second half of the board.
One other thing that I admire (because being so SUCKY at it) is the ability you have to get the right value down pat when you chose your colors.
Did you make a palette first ?

Strange 'cloudy-day' light you used there. Almost as if the air was thick with dust.

And now something completely different ; have you seen Blood - The Last Vampire ? Reeeeeennnnnntttt it ! I think it'll interest you.

Morbid guy, great painting as usual. I re-edited, hope you don't mind. wanted to see how much I could shrink it down without loosing the pacing you laid out.

Sweeetttt Tomb Raider Zero!

My only comment would be for the last frame on the first page, where she seems to shoot TOO sideways instead of kinda straight ahead. I don't like her boobs on this frame as well, as I am accustomed to the silocon implants floating everywhere

Great work!

Highfive- Cheers, glad u like the style Maybe I'll try elaborate on the story
and turn it into a comic. Meatloaf turns up and gets his arse kicked for making so many lame tunes :P

Quasar- Ahh yeah...Thanks

Goldnarmz- Cheers, Lets just say she doesn't have it all her own way :P

Tiger Eaten- Thanks, glad you liked them. I'm working on more, I'll add them.

Egerie- Thank you. yeah, I used a pallette of quite desaturated colours. I prefer a less cartoony look. I haven't seen Blood- the last vampire, is that a comic, who's it by?

Dixter- Thanks, Glad you like them

Kos Mandis- Hey u nutter, what's up? Yeah I noticed the dodgy angle on the gun, but I'm lazy, heh, heh :P

GreenPeach- Thanks. No I don't mind u doing a re-edit at all. Now I look at them, some parts may of gone on too long. Although not too sure about where u put the one
where she is looking dazed at the end.

Great sketches Morbid! I like them a lot. Do you like Simon Biz because something here reminds me of him for some reason.
Nice drawing style too. I like the characters and the color. That bat guy is cool!
I don't think it is realy a great story but I think that you got your point across.
