...just like Rainbow Six/Rogue Spear? I just finished the first mission, and it feels pretty much the same as RS.
Three things always bothered me about RS.
1)The guns don't kick. WHAT is up with that??
2)The guns are unrealistically quiet. Even with silencers, guns are not that quiet in real life. If they want to be the king of realistic shooters, why are they making these stupid mistakes??
3)In real life, the FIRST thing to do when making contact is to DIVE/DROP and TAKE COVER. In RS, you move so damn slow, and there is no "dive for cover" function.
Fortunately, they did add a Drop/Prone position function in GR.

Hi Lunatique!
I think that the game has all the shortcomings of a bad engine. The graphics look ok/great, but the controls seems somewhat restricted. It's a pretty challenging game and an addictive one too, but I feel more frustrated about the feel of the game than of it's "unrealisticness". These aspects are connected though, so...
You know.

i play GR, screw it, it seems like they pay attention to the graphics more than the gameplay itself.
Lunatique, go try Operation Flashpoints now! i swear to god i would kick you in the face if you dont try that game. OP is an experience, not just a lame game like GR.
Come on GR fan boy, bring it on. |

hell yeah OFP...i absolutely love this game..you can drive tanks, copters, and even drive the dreaded humvee ....i like driving the tanks, you can have a whole crew in the tank, gunner, commander and driver...theres also iron sights (i wish they implement this to ALL fps)

not much of a official website...this is a realism game which means that a few shots can kill you...

I'm all for OFP in terms of gameplay depth and the ability to drive vehicles, but unfortunately all my friends prefer Ghost Recon because OFP:
1) so too complex to learn in one LAN session, even for experienced FPS players.
2) takes too long to get to the action.
3) amatuers die way too quickly and rarely can respawn
4) It has a few too many crash bugs during vaguely complex missions.
5) it's absolutely impossible to copy. BIS have locked the game tighter than Fort Knox!
It's also unfortunate that the only way you can enjoy OFP online is through cable. I'm unsure about paying $230 to connect and spending $80 a month just to enjoy a bout of OFP online once a week. |

I DID try OFP, and that game is as buggy as a cheap appartment in the ghetto. My dude was running in directions that was against the natural movement of his skeletal structure, and when I look in 3rd person mode, he was pulling a Linda Blair on me. I did finish a few of the single missions, and did a little of the campaign. It WAS cool, but just too buggy.
Also, the cutscenes and voice acting was really lacking.
I will try to install it again to see if the bugs would iron out. |

OFP is the god of war games. sooo much to do in it. At LANS my friends and i like to build one huge ass mission and then play that pretty much all night.....
you know....start with the helicopter pick up....get dropped off behind enemy lines...take out a convoy blow up some scud launchers find the jeeps....drive out while being chased by BMPs...oof...i love that game |

Yeah, the mission builder is a big plus. I hope you'd had more luck finding fans of OFP than I have, maceface.
How come you're in Denver, by the way? |
