Well I never got around to painting this, I dunno why.. anyway here is a lil pic of the linework, in no way expressing the form I might add. So don't crit that aspect.

If anyone wants to paint it then they are welcome..

It's based on a Warhammer dragon.

Express the form? Sorry, don't get what you mean. If you are completely painting over the lineart then you should be fine, but if you are going to have the lines show in the final product then the lines definitely need more depth in them. Just some varying line widths here and there would make a lot of a difference. Anyway I don't have much to say as it's unfinished and I don't know what the background will be, etc. The dragon's right ear seems a little too long, and the jaw seems to be hanging broken. It needs a little foreshortening so that it is pointing in the same general direction as the upper jaw. Cool distortion on the average dragon

Certainly something a little different. Couple of comments about the structure of the dragon. The neck needs a bit of work. The way that it joins into the back of the head doesn't seem realistic. The head is a bit too horizontal to be convincing. You might also like to have a bit of a think about the body. Here you have a dragon with its head dipped quite significantly but the body is bolt up right. The body needs to be crouched forward more. Try it yourself, if you lower your head, your spine and back will curve to match the 'flow'. Otherwise, try to bulk up the bottom jaw a bit. I would also make the feet a bit bigger and have the 'knees' bent a little to support the massive weight of the upper body. Some good work so keep it up.

Hey great points....thx guys.

Timski: Expressing the form with line variation is what I was saying. I will completely get rid of the lines in the painting (which I am doing right now) so it didn't matter anyway.

Right ear? did you mean the horn? I kinda get what you mean, maybe lowering and reducing that area a bit... I think thats what you mean.

The jaw is open cos' the dragon is roaring at something.. mouth wide open!

Matt Elder: I can sort of see your point about the neck, so I am going to put it down to the head position making it look weird. I will tilt it down a fraction.

The body is upright like that so that it looks like the dragon is sort of lowering its head down low. Skulking around. Hunched back, with arms / wings spread out backwards in a display. I like it like that.

I will bend the knees a little too, that a good point.

THX GUYS!
