Well, hopefully people won't flood the board too much, in the next few days.

This is a few days old. those familiar with Shane's site might reckognize it.

Based loosely on a photo.
The drawing class thread, doesn't really allow much critiquing or advice. So please help.

Full size version. http://www.dig-ev.com/Seraphire/doodle4full.jpg

This was done a day or two ago. Eh. My drawing still need a whole lot of work. Just aren't enough hours in the day it seems.
Again, any advice would be cool.

Remember, just pointing out anatomical flaws isn't helpfull. I can see them, you can see them. That isn't the hard part. Fixing them is. Practice and observation of the proper form is the best answer. I know this. So please put more thought into any response.

Are you using any reference? or maybe the Loomis method?

The girls head is slighty weird... her chin is too pointy. You need to study head structure a bit more. All up the head is too round, try flattening the sides a bit. around the ear area. Aha! she has no ears!

you seem to have the facial features slighty twisted or off centre. The eyes are tilted, her left is too high, and her right is too low. either that or you need to adjust the head around the eyes.

Hope that helps.

btw do you ever consider line width variation? eg. thicker lines in areas of shadow, and thin, sometimes non existent in areas of bright light.

The first one was a loosely photo ref. Meaning I looked at the photo. Commited to memory, did some sketches. And checked back occasionally.
Both were done entirely in PS.

I did actually spend time doing line wieghts on the first one. Not really so much on hte second. I have very little practice with it though. I most likely did not create enough.

I agree entirely about the facial features.

I need more ram. I had to hold back a bit on some things, cause I was just getting too much slowdown. Brush couldn't keep up with my hand.
