This piece is meant to belong to another picture I painted some time ago. That one was called NightShimmer.

I've just finished it and I'm rather happy with it. It's very detailed, and a lot of it doesn't show here... but truth to be told, I'm too lazy to copy paste all the links ;D

If you truly do want to see the details, I've posted them elsewhere, so you can always go there and have a peek.

elsewhere

Very nice enayla. I think the top part of the bird, where the head meats the body is a bit flat. That's my only thought on it.

I really like the roses, they appear as if they were glass, the way the light is reflecting from it. Not that that's bad. but just cool looking

Sparkleing birds.. hmmmm that'll be a very messy pet thats for sure. =D

I never usually respond to your work, I just admire it. But I just wanted to say that I really like the colors that are in this one. It looks unreal. Very very nice. I admire you greatly.

Wow, I'm impressed!!! I can't see anything wrong with it. The feathers and glows are awesome. But I particularly like the roses. The look real, very real, especially the yellow one. Fantastic work!!!

I have the whole set now! Hooray!

It's just as glorious as I was expecting. The roses, the feathers, the opposite colours to NightShimmer... it's just so perfect.

And you even used your old signature, so they'd match! You, my dear friend, rock like no other.

Thats absolutely one of my favorites from you.
Its exactly what the title says. It feels so warm and cosy. I especially like the feathers at the bottom and the glimmer around them.

Superbug: Thanks =) I tried to fix the body yesterday before I went to bed. Don't know if it's better.

Kazz: Reference? The bird, no. Haven't ever seen a bird like that. Well, I did look at pictures at small birds (the chubby ones) just to see how they were built, but I didn't really "reference" any of the pictures. The roses are lightly based on some roses on an online birthday card VERY lightly based though. Thanks =)

ZakatH: Thanks =)

ex: *beams* Thank you =D

Imhotep: Thanks =)

Cos: *smiles* Thanks! Me, I can find a few things I could change, but I won't have the time to, for a while.

SlightlyTwisted: Thankee =D

gLitterbug: (= Thanks. I love picking colours for an image and I think I rather succeeded with this one.

cybertoker2001: Thank you =)

simuartist: Thanks!

Viridae: Heheh, are my pictures that easy to recognise, eh? Thanks.

GoldenBoy: *grins* Well, then try to paint something like that =) I think with a bit of patience, anyone could pull this off.

wow! very beautiful and very lovely colours. i can't really think of anything to crit on it though :\

ive noticed with the pics that i've seen of yours that the backgrounds are usualy just some blurry coloured areas. not that theres anything wrong with that. i like that, but maybe trying have some sort of place or setting would be something to work towards. i dont know, just an idea it wouldn't work for this one obviously, but maybe your next one?

beautiful ^_^.

but i do have a few concerns.

a lot of your images are well rendered and very pretty but seem to be a little on the static side. perhaps you could experiment a little bit more with movement, perspective, narrative, in your future work?

for instance if the bird's head was at a different angle from it's body, instead of a straight profile...

another thing i noticed in artwork where you provide detail views is that the final image looks almost too polished, too blended. when i look at the detail views i see a lot more character and energy. perhaps if you could take that microscopic vitality and kind of broaden it for the entire image?

i suffer from the same problem (personally, i mean, who knows if my ranting is even a 'problem' for you ^_^) in my figure drawing. i'll be drawing away and thinking everything is hunky dory, but when i take a step back everything seems to fall apart.

mmmm, just ranting, don't mind me .

regards.

p.s. like how you've been regulatin' the forum as of late!

Ow fbeepk... that's great enayla!
I especially like these 'special effects' (dots, sparkles, glows etc) they adds some magic feeling... very nice.

What tools you're using btw... still hooked on Adobe?

Guy: Thanks =) And I knoooow... I'm not very good with backgrounds. Sometimes I really do try to make one but lately I've been so busy at work I really don't have the time to experiment.

c: *nodding* I know a lot of my images have very static poses... it's one of my greatest weaknesses, not being able to draw more dynamic images. Where this one is concerned, I wanted a static pose though - for the simple reason that the other image (Nightshimmer) also has one. The two are meant to "belong" together. I can absolutely see what you mean, though. If I had some more spare time I'd try to train drawing more dynamic things, but I don't...

Where the details are concerned, I always tend to draw my images for a larger format - intending for them to be printed eventually. I know they lose SO much when I shrink them, but it's the tiny little details that get me fascinated with an image. The small glitters and sparkles, and the tiny feathers. I'll see what I can do, though. Thanks for the advice =)
(And thank you - I'm very glad to hear that)

[wakestarr]: Thankee =)

Gordillo: =D

Spooky: Thank you *beams*

patrick: Nightshimmer

jcFIG: Thankee =)

Leo: Thanks =) Yes, I do still use Adobe... for some reason, it's the program that agrees best with me. I'm going to try out painter at work, but... *shrugs* I like my Adobe. *hugs on it*

Again you give that magical mystical quality to anything you paint. I think you really have a unique style that is deserving of the highest praise. Can't say enough about the quality.Very well done.

Enayla!!!! Nightshimmer = SWEEEEEEET!!!
definately a good bookends sort of art.
My only take, NS's head should be tucked down more, giving the alure of sleep/nighttime/relaxation. but it looks spot on as it is, as well.
Very beautiful work, inspiring to the core.
