I think i'm going to do another background iteration and see if i can't fix some stuff and try and light it better.
For now, here it is in this incarnation.

awesome design, colors and drawing. the background may perhaps be drawn with less contrast so that the foreground gets more attention :/

That's pretty cool. It reminds me a lot of Metzen's starcraft concept art. Nice job.

From Warhammer 40k, right? Tyranid warrior or some such, which is what Metzen ripped off for all the Starcraft designs (though pretty much everything Blizzard designs is a recontextualization or repackaging of something else). What's happening in the background? Is something on fire? It's getting a little muddled, maybe try and create a clearer focus area for the eye to latch onto. Nice work.

Schabe: thanks, and yeah, i'm having a hell of a time getting this piece lit right.

Exo: thanks, i dig that guy's work.

Crepusculum: yeah, it started out based on one of my new Tyranid Warrior conversions that ended up looking more like a Hive Tyrant, so i started calling it one.

The background started being on fire, then i blurred and lightened and desaturated it a bit to try and keep it from fighting with teh figure too much.
Didn't work.
hehe.

SOOooooo i started a new thread in WIP and am doing him on a snow background and am liking how it's turning out a bit better.
