I would tell you why I am doing this...But Id have to shoot you.
So theres a reason why its all black around him with a little glow and all.
This was fun to paint. Deffenetly my best painting of a Dwarf...er...my only painting of a Dwarf.
I call him.
Tagg Leafdrop
Crits are welcome. Im sure there is stuff to fix. Id probable see it later after I sleep or something seeing as Ive been staring at it for hours strait. So Ill trust your eyes for now.
Thanks

I really like the lighting and how you pulled it off, keeping most of him in shadow. The colors are nice and subdued too.
The only crit I would have is that he looks kind of lifeless, like he's a wooden statue and not a real, living dwarf. The hair looks more like straw than hair, and I think that contributes to the statue look.
So what's he for? ![](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |

He's kind of sad looking...
I like the black and the glow...(but thats just my style)
I think the nose could be a little less blurry...
cuz it stands out so much....
Other than that a great pic....keep it up.... |

Oooh pretty Wow Levi.. you're improving tons! I like this a lot.. it's diffrernt from most fantasy artwork.. the realistic lighting kind of clashes with the linework, but that's ok because it's like this guy exists in real life and is being lighted naturally (in real life).. umm comprendo? Kind of like taking a fantasy character from a movie or something and plopping him into our world with our lighting. Right.
Matt here (at work) sez it looks like those carved statues.. like lawn gnomes. The coloring is kinda gritty and textured like that
A suggestion for practice -- try painting a character that's being lighted by the sun.. in other words, yellow lighting and blue shadows. Kind of a study piece. I think if you stretch yourself like that, you'll find yourself understanding color better and improving. |

Pretty cool. I am a little dissapointed though. I think you lost some of the character and artistic quality from the line-art to the painting. Sow Fink a 'bout tit! |
