Hello, I'm new to this board and lurked around for a few days and just decided to place one of my images up here. It's a combination of 3D and Photoshop and I'm looking for any critiques that anyone might have. Thanks!

Hint:

You can't link images directly from your machine. You'll need to find a host, upload your image there and then link to it.

Yod.net is great for this purpose.
Geocities.com is good too, but it doesn't allow remote loading, so you'll only be able to post links (unless you trick the server by renaming the files to txt's, but geocities will eventually find out about this backdoor soon)

PS, welcome to the board.

Whoa.... very niiiiiice.

I think the smoke is a bit too thick (I'm probably wrong), but everything else is just perfect.

EDIT: Ahh, but I found a fault: the smoke doesn't cast a shadow, and it should.

KleptomaN: Thanks! your right about the smoke, I'll add the shadow and see if that changes anything.

Cyber: I originally did try it in color and felt that the sepia tone made it feel more antique and for me atleast, seemed to fit more with the DiVinchi-esque machinery that I love to create. Oh yeah, it was created in Max 3.1

Thanks for the feedback so far! Much appreciated!

smoke IS too thick for the rate of travel he's going at. either..thin down the smoke.... or unblur some of the back.best bet would be to just thin it out into stuff like thin whispy clouds.

Ehhh..uhhh I disagree strongly. I think the smoke is great. You guys have not seen a steam locamotive traveling high speed have you? It looks very similar . Over all I think the image is pretty perfect
