Well i wanted to draw something. Plain and simple. After seeing Spooge smack our bitches up, I just had to get out the art shivers.
I'm not sure what more I can put here, and If anyone wants to paint over this with some better lighting that would be okay too, i know I made a few mistakes in here, i can feel them. Anywhack, enjoy

Nice colors. The character can use some kind of action movement. The thing around the face design can use a bit of detail. Anyways your style is improving more excellent
every time you draw.
Keep at it and keep posting. |

nice. Only problem that sticks out for me is the eyes. The first time I looked at the pic, I thought the bags under his eyes were the whites, and that he had no pupils. When looking at it this second time, I realized he was just squinting. You might want to clarify that bit. |

Isric, have I ever told you before that you're my hero? Seriously, man, you have the greatest style... It's kinda cartoony, but not.. I love every single work of yours that I've ever seen and this is no exception..
Hehe... Can I start a fan club? Or maybe I could be your cheerleader or something? Nah, my legs are too hairy to wear one of those skirts..
Still, Isric, keep up the good work, man.. I have the highest respect for you. |

I love the colors you use. I also love the background. The guy in the front is okay, but like someone mentioned, he could use a little movement. Also, the poor fellow looks like he's taking a dump in his costume. Either way, its awesome as usual. |

man, you colour like liquid. Draw more realistic than disney. What are you still doing here? You made it through the bootcamp!
And this already looks more realistic than the other stuff of yours. And I've seen the WIP pic on your site. It looks like we'll have another spooge here in a few months. |

Thanks all. Yeah, this really wasen't meant to go so far. It was just a sketch to design the colar and took off from there. My biggest problem is still dynamics. Almost everything I do seems very quiet or subdued, but I have yet to learn proper dynamics.
Could anyone help? Give some critical advice?
How do you really use action WELL in an image. There's a discussion topic for you. |

well, isn't it all a matter of graphic design? when you make something perpendicular to the border of the image, the feeling will most likely be that of a still static image, allso, you have similar things happening on both sides of this image, further balancing it (bad thing) if you want to create tension you should create movement in the image... that's hard to explain (took me a while to figure out how to Identify it )
I reccomend a thurough read of the loomis project, and the other pages by loomis (I think) contained in Ron Lemen's (flickstone) webpage
flickstone's page http://www.geocities.com/lemenayd/page2.html
Loomis project http://www.yoyodyne.net/loomis/index_thumbs.html
heh hope I helped, uhm I wish I knew graphic design better myself... |

I went to your website and I LOVE it! I completely relate to your style, I love the heavy linework and the texturey painted coloring, it's got meat o_o
I put one of your pics as my desktop background heh heh now I'll look at it EVERY time I turn on my computer heh heh heh ...
Ok I'll stop scaring you.
But anyway about this pic. Is there a story behind this drawing? I try to put action of some kind in my work even though I'm no way up to par to what a lot of the artists on this forum do, but thinking of a scene in a story or a moment in time usually help me. I run a movie sequence in my head and freeze-frame the picture I see, then I try to put it on paper. I'm sure everyone does this... And this guy is a person, right? What is he feeling? What's he thinking about? Is he thinking... I just lost my family in this stinking war or... I'm hungry where's my meatloaf or...I'm the leader of this kick ass army what? hehe yeah... hands and eyes are important in expressing the character's action. It might help hmm... if the canvas was longer so we could see where he's standing and what he's dealing with. About the lighting and stuff I couldn't tell you because I need alot of work with that too... Ok I'll stop now. Sorry to go on so long. I'm sure you already know all this -_-;; |

Isric, I agree with Klash and Cicinimo, try adding movements to your characters. Your style is unique, but your characters usually seem to be resembling statues.
