Hello..
Yes...well Its about time I posted a painting. After being away from it for a while I didnt know what to expect from my skills. Well, I did better than I ever have befor.
I am quite happy with the way this guy turned out.

A type of Monk/Wizard of the Trodell Race. Not many left of his kind but Brout Rodendell wonders the forests of the world surching for others of his kind. Always a step or two behind sitings of other Trodells Brout begens to doubt that he will ever find many of his race.

Brout Rodendell

This was about a 5-6 hour job..I think. Id be greatfull if you left me a line. =)
I am proud of this one. =)

Seeyas later Yall

Great fabric and skin, man--although, there does seem to be a little blurriness on the fabric right along the neck, where the lighter green meets the darker green. Doesn't really matter, though--this rules. I really love it. Don't forget to put it on Epilogue, too.

Just one little thing. I still think the eye could have more contrast, sharper highlights...to give it that icky, fishy wet look....

Wow... very cool stuff blitz. The original sketch was intriguing enough, but this painting really brings the character to life. I agree with Socar about the eyes, they need a little more glossiness

Paint some more!

[edit: Just realized one more thing I wanted to point out I think the weight of the fabric where it latches on with the chains would pull the fabric it's attached to more taut. Even the thinnest fabric has quite a bit of weight in that sense. I think if you do that, the fasteners will have less of the "floating" feel they have right now.]

hola.

I've already said how much I like this one=)

the BG works nicely now.
some great values suggesting different surfaces. I really like the cloth and the texture on the face.

the eye could maybe have been better tho. looks a tad mishshapen and not really shiny.

great stuff man, keep it up=)

Wow! I saw the sketch and I must say that this coloring really... um... enhances the drawing! Great coloring.

The one thing that bugs me about the drawing is the expression of the character, it seems like his brain has been scooped out and he's just a zombie or something...

Hi Lev -

Oh wow. That's really nice. (I told Darrin to tell you that too.. eheh) The lighting is really great too.. That fold towards the bottom of the pic, standing out a little more than the rest is awesome. I like how you've kept your style when it comes to coloring, but improved it so it looks prettier.. kind of developed it and refined it a bit. yeah. Only thing I'll say you should fix is the eye.. even though this is an odd character, I think the eye should be round.. it looks kind of flat right now.

yay!

I think this looks worse. lost some of the character. but my shot at doing (a much too shiny, quick and nasty) eye.

Thanks guys.

Cos:Yah, Im real happy with how the chin turned out. Thanks man

Socar:Thank you so very much Socar. Yah, Im gana try and straten that eye out, and then maybe add to the colar to fix the cloak.

Jezebel:Thanks Jezebel, Yes the eye hehe. The cloth drapeing was intresting. I imagin the small outling gold aria as kind of a wire, Its kinda stiff holding its postition. Its hard to explain.

Freddio:Thanks Freddio, its one of my fave too hehe

Rin Tin Tin:Thanks for some of your input on the pic Rin. It helped a great deal. I am very happy you were impresed. I realy dig your stuff my friend.

Jucas:Beleve it or not I do have a reason why his mouth is kind of open like that. He is a big guy, and he has small nostrals, so due to the smallness of the nostrals on a Trodell they hang their mouth open a bit. Makes for easer breathing, especialy when doing alot of walking.

Nova:Thanks Curly. Yah, man o man you should have seen the cloth in the begining...BAD.hehe, I just kept working it over and working it over untill I was finaly happy with it. If anyone has any tutorials on painting cloth Im listning.

Thanks, this is a big step ahead in my art I think. I am very pleased and am ready to do sommore soon.
Bye

Geez simps...

I don't know what to say except...and I think you'll like this...my sister's direct quote..."I didn't know Levi painted like you"

I said what do you mean

hehe...

Great job man, I love the design and the story, oh, and the chain, skin, fabric and color choice. Excellent man

And you should be proud!

Very nice work. I think this is your best yet.

Only crit I have is what Rinaldo said about the eye.

This piece is so well done that I dont think it would make that much difference though.

Nice work! I have always enjoyed your unique characters Blitz.

This one is no different. The robe is very nicely painted. I prefer its loose more wide brushed approached then the more tight style done with the face. Just a small nit pick.

Your work keeps improving... keep it up!

I dont believe it....you leave for like 2 weeks, then post this!?!? Why do you keep lying and saying you are no good, when you learn like a damn machine!!!!

So yeah, me likes!!! Damn dude, gettin good. I really really like the design on the cloak, AND the subtle low lighting...niiiice. My only real big crit is that his head lacks depth, kinda flat, but it still looks cool!!! damn, I am outta town, but when I came in and saw THAT, I had to log on and post.

Keep it up Levi, you seriously gonna be gooder:P

Wow, Blitz.... sorry it took me so long to reply to this image... it really kicks ACE. I can't believe how quickly you are getting better... and how much better, at that. Man, you're coming along swimmigly. The one thing I was going to comment on, was commented on, and then some... the eye thing. Looks like you have more than enough advice on that, though.

As a matter of personal opinion, I'd love to see a little spittle reflected in his mouth, to some degree... his mouth doesn't seem wet enough, although it's not really something that leaps out... I just looked there, and longed for a nice glossy catchlight on the wet mouth... I know it's in shadow, but what if it were reflecting a little of the immediate environment... it could be played down a lot, but I still think something there, would make it that much better... *personal opinion --- not to be taken seriously*

You are really rockin' Levi. I hope to see more of this stuff soon, but hell... this'll do for now. Great work!

-Catch you soon!

Heh, and you thought this post was going to end up in the abyss of page 2...

I told you this was your best work yet before you posted it and it seems everybody else agrees (I also commented on the eye with which everyone seems to agree as well, hehe). The details in the skin and the folds in the robe look great man...this is a solid piece you have here. So when are you going to produce some more? Keep up the good work man. Peace.
