Painting 1
Painting 2
Painting 3
Painting 4
It's a follow up for an older thread that I started. I've been working on this style of painting for about an month, and here are the ones I think are better. Any comment?
Please don't ignore me..

One fo the problems is - your Jpegs are far too big - 150k 200k for a jpegs on a page like this is pointless unless theres masses of fine detail that you want to preserve. Its no fun for anyone to have to wait for them to come up.
Ths stye is emm .. interesting but looks quite unfininshed - are they supposed to be completely abstract pieces? |

Yes, they are suppose to be entirely abstract. Does that change your view on whether it's finished or not? Personally I can never be satisfied with my paintings. I never know when to stop. And sometimes I feel it's finished when other thinks it's not.
i'm sorry about the image size, maybe I should edit it and make links to each picture instead. The image size has to be big, but maybe not this big, I'm sorry. But I want to show the interaction of layers.

They remind me of some strange place I have been to but I cannot recall what the name of this place was nor when I have been there. I do not even know if I've actually been there, they just remind me. Weird, huh?
I like'em!
ciao

Hey, thanks. The ideas behind the paintings is based on the quote I use in my signature (read below). I have made a couple of changes on 1 and 3, and I think they look much better now. Too bad I still haven't took any pictures of them. |

I think we work with similar intentions. I posted a drawing recently for the first time. Please have a look. Your use of line and the process of painting is very important. You're not rendering something intentionally, yet the way you handle the medium makes references to possible representational associations.
What is your other work like. Are you planning to show them in a gallery? |

Well, my works used to be entirely intentional. I dreamt up some image in my head, then I close my eyes and paint it. It looks something like this:
But with my new style, I paint the background first with the colors I have chosen, and then when it's dry, I will start to paint random strokes. I realized this is a good therapy to release aggression and stress. The results are the paintings I posted above.
And yes, some of my artworks are showing at an art gallery right now. But they only agreed show my artworks because I work as a director there. Those paintings above are the new series I'm working on, and it probably won't be finished until early next year. I'm planning to do something new this time. Aside from those paintings, I will make some installations to go along with it. That's why I've been collection cow bones and twigs for the last month. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
