Started this while ago and ended up abandoning it, couldn't get a good flow going on. Anyway decided to have a go at getting it done, still not happy with my colour variation but what the hey.
Comments and crits welcome.

Thats really, really good. The colors are great, the concept is great, the lighting is cool (Not exactly realistic, but who's caring). For some reason I'm really liking those stairs in the back. Depth is a wonderful thing . |

Hey Cos, great work! I have to agree with burnOut, I think this is my favorite piece of work from you to date. The only thing that bothers me is the arm/hand that is holding the mace. It seems a bit off. Other then that I think it looks great.

Cool pic
All your pics are really rich in feeling, I really like the guys arm strap thingys. The horizontal perspective seems like it's sloping down from right to left... But I think it might just be me, I've been in front of this computer wayyy too long.
Excellent stuff ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Cos I like the pic. I think it is your best yet.
I just wanted to help you separate your figures from the background. Looks to much from the same pallet to me. I hope this helps.

Jezebel - Thanks
Burnout- Thanks
Cincimo - Thanks, yep the exact reason I added the steps needed it
Lukias - Thanks alot guy! glad you liked it =) I left the bottom of the dog less worked inentionally, so the pic gets sketchier as it goes out. btw when are you gonna post some work! I've been looking out for it. Don't be shy, your stuff is really good.
Bobo - Thanks man =) Yeah the hand is a little dodgy, like the mace isn't in it properly, you're right. Actually there is a few things I noticed that still could use some fixing, (and usually I would because I'm abit of a perfectionist) but I just gonna let them slide to do something new.
Frost - Thanks man! you know me and scary =)
Jason N - Thanks =)
Shadow man - Thanks for your paintover =), To crit on your crit, I do think you made the b/g much too dark, as the figures look superimposed now. and the yellow blodges do not work as lighting for me. But I do like some of the colours you got on that wall, and I see the wall could get a little darker now, (although I don't think I will come back to this piece). So it did help =) Guess I should of taken it to the extreme, to see just how far it needed to go. Have to keep it in mind for next time.
Badoli - Thanks, I prefer a looser style which is why I didn't polish the whole piece. Plus it would take longer :P

The yellow looks splotchy because I did it real fast but I think the color is acurate because the room is being lit by the fire which would give the highlights a yellowish hue. |

Hi Cos, the picture is worth thousand words and best way to avoid lots of typing ... ;-) btw, I think your image is great, except few details, my advice is don't hesitate to use all computer possibilities. Regards.

woo hoo. suprised to see this post again.
Rattmouth- Thanx d00d, Brom is awesome. I've only seen his work recently but he
is really frakkin class.
sterces - The steps and windows are quite cool, but why is the dog creature on fire!??
I'm not much` into using filters or effects anymore, the pic is totally painted, thats
the skill I'm working on improving. |

Major lighting and shadings changes are made on main character,
everything else is plain background, except the monster of course.
Fire aura is only attempt; it appears to be halfway successful.
Hey, maybe somebody come with good advice.
I visited your site and I have to admit I like your earlier works better.
That's what gave me idea to use layered textures on your recent image to
see how it would look like. Personaly, I think it's waste of time painting
strictly with brush tool in photoshop. If you like just painting, then
you could use traditional paint, like acrylics and real brushes, that
way you could be even better and your works will be more valuable with
more personal touch. After all, you have great talent. Regards. |

Stercesman - I really liked the textures you've added. how did you do that? did you use some filter? or did you took a scanned texture and did some layering effect? |

Turned out well Cos. I remember seeing this ages ago.
Stercesman- don't go overboard with the filers and texture shtuff. your repaint has some interesting things in it. but I think Cos' works better overall. the dog being on fire just seems like you're done it because you can. the focus of the image has been shifted and it's not flowing as well I feel.
but some good points. |

Haha, hadn't seen this one...
My only comment is that due to the camera position, it looks too 2d, like a sidescroller. Other than that, it has Cos Koniotis drawn all over it!
keep it up choda boy |

Muzman and Dryfire - Thanx guyz
Stercesman - Thx sterces. You know, I started using Photoshop around late '98. The earlier pieces were like a learning process, playing with the filters etc, I'm sure everybody does that when they first start using it. Since I started coming here, I learnt alot about digital painting, saw alot of digital painters artworks that really inspired me. Decided that was the style I wanted to push forward in. I enjoy it too =) Everybodys got their opinion, preferences, tastes. Personally when I see filters on this type of painted artworks, it just seem cheap to me, because its hard to know what is actual talent, and what is just click click. That's just my opinion.
Rinaldo - Thx guy, it was a bitch but got it done.
kos mandis - choda boy?.... One day I'm gonna find you Kos Mandis. |
