the rendering is definately improved here, but I think you should chose a more fitting pose fot the subject, both of them look like regular modeling poses with a sword stuck in the hand afterwards.

Are you gonna add some armour later? She fights naked? That's very easy to get cut and hurt.

The lighting is good. Did you use reference?

Hmmm.. am I the only one that sees something wrong with this? Does it not look like he took a picture of a girl posing that way and added a hand+sword to her? That hand+sword really doesn't conform to the rest of the image. Neither does the head. And it's SOOO pixelated and "dirty" when you zoom in. Also, the improvements with your anatomy are ENORMOUS, almost too good.

I'm not really accusing anyone of anything, I just find this entire image to be quite strange. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.

I can't colour for crap, but I really like the step by step process you've shown here. If nothing else it has helped me.

thought the sword does look a little arkward to be held like that (weight of the sword vs the size of her arm)

ummm... hello? does anyone else find this to be a slightly pornographic thread? not to be a prude or something... but geez. it's one thing to post a drawing, but posting the reference for that drawing 10 times is a bit much.

she's very... er, naked.

I would suggest, if not giving her a more dynamic pose, at least give her a more expressive face--she kinda looks like she's staring out into space. The heels seem rather out of place also. And the highlights on her skin seem too yellow.

okay really, you just missed out on the chance to breathe life into a character. I'm sorry, but in this case nudity ruins it (and yes, I'm sure the point of the whole thing IS the nudity, but think of what this could be if she had clothes on. Oh wait no, you would have to think about who she is, what she's doing, where she's going, and even what she's fighting for! thank goodness we get to miss out on all that).

By all means, take it as compliment man. I totally believed you copied it. Consider me wrong. I apologize for bringing it up, you have my respect.... for your ability to improve so drastically. However, I'm with the others in thinking that this thread has gotten to be just a tad bit pornographic for my enjoyment.

Isric is a perfect example of how to bring a character to life. Look at his work, it's quite amazing really. Don't focus so much on... nudity

I don't think it's pornographic --there's nothing really sexual going on. I do think that 10 posts *that* large is a bit excessive though. I can hear the 56k'ers groaning now.

well, I didn't call it pornographic (although what you consider pornographic is probably way diferent from me, I would consider this porn, being a pointlessly naked woman in a wierd pose trying to look all sultry like). What I'm saying is that the blatant, rediculous nudity takes away from the incredible potential for a neat character. Noctali, I'm looking forward to seeing what you add. Your technique it great
