I'm trying to finish this game right now, and it ROCKS! I think this just might be the best single player game since Half-Life.
My copy is F#cked up, so I can't play multiplayer for some reason. Grrr..... I hope I'm not missing out on too much. |

Only played the demo, but I have to to say the Marines bit is brilliant. They've got the music/terror timing worked out brilliantly.
Didn't like the Predator section, the Alien one is kinda cool.
I heard that the game is basically 50% Marine levels, 25% Predator, 25% Alien. |

I agree this game is absolutely awesome. I liked all campaigns equally. If only other companies would make games as well scripted as this one then the gaming industry might be better off :P |

I don't have much time for gaming nowadays, but I finished all the alien levels, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. A little too short perhaps I've played the predator and marine sections a bit too, and from what I could tell they were also brilliant.
And yeah, the music is EXTREMELY well done and incorporated.

Bought the game a while ago and played through the Predator Missions and absolutely LOVE it. Played alot of Multiplayer some time ago. Didnt play any game for a long time now.
Hey Lunatique, do something about your fucked up copy, I wanna kick your gluteus maximus Multiplayer is great imo. I wouldnt just keep my fucked up copy.
Have to play through with Marine and Alien sometime. I think they did a great job on the cut-scenes and was quite surprised of the games quality, thinking that it was done in a VERY short amount of time. Especially compared to games like Max Payne. |

you can't play MP without the patches that have been released, that might be the issue. it's okay, it's not that great though, very linear and the bosses are stupid, there are weapons lying around the final boss of marine missions even though it makes no sense, and none of them can be beaten by anything but brute force. some of the design and mood are very nice, but it also lacks interactivity (although you can open some things and read some things, lights can't be destroyed and there are very few places you can activate machinery or use items except where they directly advance the linear plot) |

Anyone find the Predator levels any fun? I'm thinking of just skipping those completely since it was pretty dull being able to recharge your energy whenever you chose to. Where's the challenge in that? |

in the later pred levels you can't recharge any time because there are so many enemies nearby that they'll kill you while you try to heal, but in general I agree that recharges shouldn't be just whenever.... |

I really hate to ask this, but I'm running out of options.
As I said, my copy of AVP2 is fucked up, so I can't play multiplayer, and I BADLY want to play, especially after a few of you said, "fix it so we can play together!"
Anyway, I purchased my AVP2 here in Fuzhou, China, and my guess is that I got ripped off with a pirated copy that looked like the real thing. That being the case, I can't exactly ask the publisher to send me a valid CD key for online multiplayer.
Would anyone of you be so kind and email me one? I don't know what the protocol is for sharing CD keys in AVP2(it's fine when you do it for Valve products, as long as you don't have more than a certain number of people using it at one time), but if it won't effect the original key holder, I would really appreciate it if someone could help out and let me try the multiplayer.
Thanks. Looking forward to getting my ass PUMMELED by one of you AVP2 players.

I just finished the Marines section.
OMIGOD, it was brilliant!! What I just played through was FAR better than any of the current single player FPS out there. In comparison, Red Faction was boring and uninnovative, while Return to Castle Wolfenstein just seemed juvenile and simple-minded.
Monolith is the new king. I was already impressed with NOLF, but now, AVP2 just made my jaw drop.
Finally another developer that is doing it RIGHT.
Valve, Epic, id, Looking Glass, Monolith--who's next to join the ranks of the elite? |

of the devs you list I only feel looking glass was truly innovative. H-L by valve was basically a rehash of key-door puzzles but with scientists as keys. the AI was nice and the design was good but... not a great game. ID has never made good games, good tech, but bad products. NOLF was uninteractive and linear, although it was fun and polished. and epic, like ID made good tech but bad games. I think Ion Storm Austin with deus ex and now thief 3 is a good developer, but I don't agree with much of what you think. |

uh this might not help but you can check www.megagames.com they somteims have stuff like cdkeys, you can also check www.cdcovers.cc and look for a cover for the game, sometimes when the nice people make/scan in the covers they leave cd keys on the cover. uh...not that I wouldn't know anyrhing about this kind of ilegal activity....I just heard about on the..uh.. |
