Hi Guys, sorry I haven't posted anything new in a while, The stuff I'm working on for our next game is confidential, and I can't show it, but I finally put up some of the kinda cartoonie Character portraits I did for Unreal Tournament PS2. I did them in Painter6. I didn't do these real high res, because they were to be like 200 pixels final.
Higher res versions of a few.

They are very impressive. I particularly like the male in the top left, great expression and pose.
Keep them coming. |

Nice stuff Shane...
I'm glad you are here too, You are a great artist.
Is Zanna's shadow under her chin intentionally so purple? it seems a little strange.. only a little though. |

hmmm much prais
how about some crits?
-I know that videogames need really typicall
characters but IMHO they are all too boring
-and forgive me but the first one looks kinda like a boygroup member in uniform
though your technique is great |

Shane,
Nice to see you post again. I've been to your site a few times. Your work really inspires me. Wish you and the team at Epic the best of luck with UT2. UT1 was a blast.
As for a critique, well, I guess the "nose bridge" of the female character on the top right bothers me a little. Maybe a little more shading would have protruded the bridge a bit more.
I also agree with n8's neck comment. Could be just a "pose" problem.
Anyway, seeing how these are finished and probably already implemented, I guess the critiques are a bit late.
