Hey,

Yes it's true, I occasionally experiment in with 3-D modeling. The experiments usually fail but what the heck. I own Cinema 4-D GO and have done the occasional tutorial and scene with models that were not made by me, all for fun of course. This is my first attempt at modeling without a or reference of any kind. This is Anton, the mascot for my father father's company. It was all done by distorting spheres, nothing to advanced. Anyway, I hope you're pleasently supprised. Any comments are welcome and thanks in advance.

Just little a screenshot to show you Cinema 4-D's interface for those of you who are unfamiliar.

The finished product. You'll notice that I really stink at texture mapping.

The side view...

A close-up of the hand...

And last... Pull my finger.

Anyway, There they are. Again, give whatever comments you like. I know they're nothing to special but it's a start right?

Yup! It's a start... and I'm guessing you've learned a lot from it, right? Good stuff... he's got personality going already.

Some of the best stuff out there, are simple shapes & textures. Consider our own synj! Use his stuff, and other's, as reference as to what really kicks ass... always look forward, and although this is a fine model without reference, you should use some kind of reference, to know how to truly kick ass.

Good luck, bro... don't downplay what you've created... it's not shockingly awesome, but it's a fun, contemporary critter, who's the beginning Character and animation of an awesome career, if you want it to. Again, good luck!

Thanks Feebsaint.

I've checked the sites of some of the amazing 3-D artists here; Steven Stalsberg, Nick Marks. I'm especially impressed by Nick Marks' integration of comic style retouching to his detailed 3-d characters.

I actually have begun work on another 3-D project that I will work on now and then. Remember that Alien I did for Littlepoop's alien thread? The one on the moon type landscape? I've started a rough model based on that. My creature design is probably a little too complicated for me to depict it 3-demensionally at my current skill level but I'm giving it a shot anyway.

3-D art, for me, is really my second priority right now though. I'm working on some new material for my, soon to be revised, website. My work in Painter 6 right now seems be my main strength, at least I think so anyway.

Thanks again.

For getting your feet wet, it is amazing. It shows a great attention to detail...something that a 3D artist needs. Keep it up and keep going. If you are doing stuff like this now..wow.

Thanks guys. Comming from such tallented 3-D artists like yourselves, that mean quite a bit.

This image, aside from being my first attempt at 3-D modeling was also my first professional job (I was paid with a used Que! CDRW Drive). My father actually was the one who charged me with the task. He wanted a mascot for his company, ImageAntics. He knew that I had taken up 3-D modeling sort of as a side hobbie next to my digital 2-D art, and decided to let me take a crack at it along with a few other artists who work with us at Konica Photo Imaging. If you're interested in seeing more, cleaner renderings, go to; www.imageantics.com

Again, thanks for the encouraging words.
