Decided to finish an old sketch. After I finished it I saw some huge errors, like the feets for example.
C&C is more than welcome. |

I also see potential here.
You need to adopt some form of line variation. Otherwise a drawing becomes merely a set of shapes filled in with shading. At the moment most of your lines merely suggest the 'outline' of shapes. You want to introduce line variation into your drawings so that you can suggest 'form'. I hope you understand what I mean about line variation.. if not just ask.
You seem to have chosen a side on portrait view. Sometimes this doesn't show the viewer enough information. I also tend to either draw objects from the front or the side, because it is easier.
I can't say for sure if you do this aswell, but it looks like you depend on it too much. It's a 'crutch'... yet you have to try and free yourself from any dependencies when you draw. That way you will be able to move on. So this is the point where I believe you should venture into new grounds. You seem to be confident enough with your pencil. You have clean and accurate lines, and understand things like scale, proportion and some anatomy. (We'll ignore the feet since you already noticed that)
I think that your drawing skills are at the stage when you need to start drawing objects that are '3d', or more commonly with characters it is known as a 3/4 view. something that requires you to draw it in a view that is not frontal or side on. Something that will help you learn 'form' and perspective. Draw from life if you can..
maybe to start with try simpler objects other than people. Just brush up on some perspective.
Well you wanted some sort of constructive crit, and there you go. What are your thoughts on what I have talked about?
If you have any questions then just ask. |

ok... let's see what can i add...
the leg that is straight should be stertched more to the back so he wont fall over backwards. also the lower foot should point more outwards for the same reason - balance.
the upper arm should be a lil longer. think that it should reach the height of the navel with the elbow.
other than this it looks pretty OK to me and listen to Collosimo. he is right |

Thanks all of you.
Collisimo: I know what you mean of the profile view as a "crutch" it's just when I am little bored of failed perspective uses I do one of these. Just to give me hope that one day I can become better or something.
And I agree on the Line Variation, I was just trying to brush up on my shading skills, so I chose some simple shapes.
