hey jr this is a great piece, it shows great color design and knowlege of the figure. I think what you need is more contrast and shape, this is a 3 dimensional object you are painting and it feels very unfinished, very 2D, especially her armor. Deeper shadows, higher contrast between the light spots and dark spots would be ideal. I guess that's my only quam. I think too many head shots aren't too interesting tho, maybe add some atmospheric background to give the girl a sense of place. These are things that are easy to add to your repetoir (sp?) of skills, and with someone as sharp as u it should be no problem >_< take care erf =B |

Hi there.. love this painting.. but i just have to point out that.. her(or is it him?) left eye (viewer's pont of view) seems like its alot smaller than her right. and its alslo a tad bit lower that the right. .. upon looking at it closer.. the height of the left eye isnt so much the problem.. but the width.. i suppose why the left eye seems lower than the right is because the inner corner of the left eye (the one closest to the bridge of the nose) is alot lower than the right eye's inner corner..
another thing i'd like to mention is.. where ie the light source? or how many are there? i think if u determine the main light source and then render the shadows accorfing to it.. the image would look alot better... why I ask this about the main light source is because the the dark patch (shadow?) below the left eye near the nose is disturbing me... some how. also the blues on both sides of the cheeks seems somewhat peculiar.. and u also have the blue going on at the top of the forehead as well.. how many blue fill lights are there in the pic? seems to me there is at least 3. one from the direction of the bottom right.. another from the bottom left and another from the top.
mebbe i am missing the point as where the blues come from.. is it from the reflected light bouncing off her blue head gear she is wearing? if so.. shouldnt the blue then be alot darker to match the blue of what she is wearing.
Lastly..on a brighter note.. hehe..i love her lips, great job on the lips .. the pupils as well.. but take care to make sure both are the same size and shape.
