MMmmmmMMmmmm ... Mentalray 3.0 ...

More and more of the 3D packages are beginning to have more and more of the features of the good old Mirai

I wonder if Softimage will get another chance with this new baby ...

Things like realtime shaders, hair, crowd generator, composition.. I think 3dmax4 shoudl've had all those features bundled together instead of being available as separate plugins!

Yeah, that's one thing I really hate about Discreet. You mean for $3500 you DON'T get character studio?!?!? Oh, you GET character studio, you just can't USE it. Oh, ok, yeah.

If I were to win the jackpot and would never have to work again I think I'd go for Softimage. Unfortunately It's max..always been..
About not getting character studio with it. Well. It's kind of dumb to expect everything. For it's price Max is an extremely well rounded package.
Just look at it from the other side. If they would include it most people would be paying for something they would probably never use.

they cvould integrate character studio into max and keep the price at 3500 and then they'd make more money because people would feel that they were getting more bang for their buck.... so to speak.
