I tried to revamp Supes' look... what do you think about the drawing and the colors?

you made hime look like a friggin pansy. the pastel colors are interesting i gues... but it's too much of the dirty blue color. as far as comic book anatomy goes, it's fairly lacking. you should definitely bulk the man up. this guy doesn't look "super" at all. and that is a large part of why he is named superman. back to the drawing board dude. the costume is too plain, and the character is too weak. do some sprucin. |

The subyacent idea for this Superman is that the guy is in fact an ALIEN, hence the eyes (I guess he should wear some kind of contact lenses as Clark Kent), and that he becomes his superstrength and superpowers from the radiations of a yellow sun and not from intensive sport practice or body building. In reality he cannot be nothing but skinny since there aren't training machines strong enough to be used by him. |

constitution, dude. you can totally be muscular without using workout equipment. plus, he's supposed to be naturally bigger than everyone else. (i know i read that somewhere) i'm just bein picky now, though. but to refute your argument, you CAN be muscular or if nothing else, toned and ripped, without the use of workout stuff. aerobics will do that too. and i'm sure lois makes clark go to the gym to run on the treadmill whenever she can :P |

haha i think its great! nice take. i love it. id like to get a better look at what you did to his feet. maybe from the side. dont mind these americans, they tend to get deffensive of thier faggy little 'comic' icons. pansie? hes clad head to toe in spandex, kids! what do you expect, get a grip. |

thats the strangest way i've ever seen 'strong' spelled.
cool picture, i like the rational thought put into it. i was a little thrown off by the eyes at first, but he is an alien after all. you seen the movie the gladiator? you know how russel crowe in it isn't ripped, hes just large with natural looking muscle, superman should be the same imo |

It's a great illustration, I love the style and the anatomy is bang on. It's a great character, but it's not superman (certainly not with the easter choice of colours). You should've just called him something totally new. Im really looking forward to seeing the rest of your illustrations. |

Hey, I like it! I don't mind him not being on steroids , it's a nice turn for an overused character imo.
As far as the drawing goes, i think it's really well done. There's something about his right arm/shoulder that looks strange though, i think the arm should be 'born' below where it is now. And, do I see a Kirby influence there?
Oh ... welcome to the board! |
