hi, this is my first post to this board, and I thought I'd show off a little piece I made a while ago. It's a Japanese Rock Garden as you can obviously see ...

the image is meant to evoke an atmosphere, not to be really strictly representational or whatever. comments on composition, perspective, atmosphere, and any other suggestions are welcome.

it means... alright you got me, it's just random characters... d'oh someone knows how to read kanji on this board !

i just liked the way the letters looked. didn't have a reference for a real phrase or anything. if you know a place for stuff like that (preferably in images, not in text-based asian letters) i'd love to have it.

thanks for other comments.

4200 members and counting. Some of 'em are gonna know how to read kanji.

As for assorted kanji to look at, go here. The links that say '50 Popular Kanji' will probably have something you'll like.

Welcome to the board. I like the artwork, though it has 2 different styles to it. The top half looks like a traditional Asian painting while the bottom half looks like a modern painting. I think the style would work better if it looked more like a traditional piece. You could still do it on the computer. In fact, it would be interesting to see the results of your experimenting trying to get that brush-like feel of the traditional asian painting with your rock garden.

Well, I would say that the the rocks should be a little shinier to give them a wet look. And it would be nice if the ground had a couple puddles.

Steel, cedar, footprint, second... what is that supposed to mean?
