Mostly drawn during math or social class. Therefore the squared/lined paper.
Feel free to color if you want.

Looks like I'm commenting right behind you, as you post.
The dude with his arms raised kicks the ass of every other thing on this post combined. Everything else, while a fun style, seems sorta mediocre, but that fella is way cool.
When I look at the guy, simple pencil (nice linework) on lined paper, with a 'smudgy' feel to it (bad scan?), I want to see an animiation of him... it almost seems like there's a story to him, and you've shared one frame out of a hilarious animated short... he's very cool.
My next favorite piece is the princess with her (ahem) hands behind her back. Her shoulders are a bit broad, though, which is awkward on a feminine drawing. Fine job on the rest... here and there are solid drawings... keep doing them: You have a definite style that is begging to be honed and brought to light. My guess is that you'll be an artist superstar, if you keep drawing like mad, and take all the figure drawing/design/color/painting classes you can get your hands on.
Kudos. Keep at it! |

Don't feel ashamed. I'm glad you at least recognize the importance of thinking before posting. Many here hardly ever do.
Don't feel down, either... I'm a hard crit, sometimes... basically the best crit I ever got was from an old artist on cape cod, when I asked him to look at my portfolio. He said, "I'm not your mother, and I'm not your girlfriend, so I'm not going to coddle you about your work. I'll tell you what I think, and you can deal with it as you like. When he said that, I was in fear for my ability (he was an amazing artist). He told me I showed promise, but that I needed a lot of work. He pointed out my faults, unheeding, and I'm forever in his debt.
You rock, man. You're young, and show a great deal of promise. I look forward to seeing more of your posts here. |
