This piece I'm posting is a couple weeks old. I did it for a local comic shop by the name of "R-Galaxy". I'm posting this piece in two parts. One being a closer look at the chick of the piece. Posted here. The second part being a link to the whole piece. Because it is far too wide to post here.

Ok. On with the show.........

And here is the link to the rest. http://cybertoker2001.xoasis.com/lowresgalaxy.jpg

Let me know what you think if you're so inclined.
Take it easy.

I was going for a more militant type look to the chick then a "cheesecake" aproach.
If you like cheesecake check out my other post "Somethin' from the new guy".

I would be afraid if I met her in a dark alley. Or a bar. Or the mall. Or anywhere, for that matter. Very well done, though.

One thing that doesn't look quite right to my non-comicbook-trained eye is the dark lines down the front of her legs. It makes it look like she has a crease between muscles there, which isn't quite right. I know that's not what you were going for, but that's kind of what it looks like. Otherwise, really nice job.

I think it would be better without the lensflare.

if she's all militant and though, why is she wearing those big ass porn-star heels? its a very good picture, but i think that the legs (espesially her the left one) look really off, and the high contrast shadows don't help that

very good, tho

Yeah, I think her left knee is dislocated.

Using heavy black ink for shadows works (I think) with b/w art and basic coloring, but perhaps not so well with fully-rendered color. Makes her seem as if she needs a bath.

HMmm.. If your going to use a lensflare, don't use a red one.

Loki addressed this issue quite eloquently on his site, when talking about raw and uncontrolled lensflares.
when listing problems with a particular version of a picture, he said, the lensflare cause 2(3?) problems.

1. the lense flare is too big

2. Red lens flares are ugly

Looks like you took care of (1) but not (2).

Wow! Thanx for all the replies guys! I agree with pretty much all of your critiques. Did any of you go the the link and see the whole piece with the lettering? Just wondering. Yes the lines in the legs are strong. Usually I don't go for such heavily inked line art. But that's the look the client wanted. He seems to like it, so as long as he's happy with it so am I. I do agree with the shoe factor as well. The only explanation I can think of is she's "under cover" or somethin'. Last but not least, I know the reddish lens flair looks off. I've stopped using those type of lens flairs all together in my work. Now I only use "prime" lens flairs. Which have almost no color at all. Thanx again for the advice guys.
