Hey

This is something that I did in Painter 6.1. I can see some obious places where I really screwed up with the shading on the wall panels, but I could use some suggestions, crits, comments whatever.
Just tell me what you think and rate me!

seems like a quick sketch more than final artwork, looks okay from here (student) though. I like black and white artwork.

That's pretty cool, though not sure whether I'd use it for a wallpaper.

The alien reminds me of something from Warhammer.. hmm, it looks a little odd imo because of the mean looking claws but gentle looking face. I like the claws though they do look pretty coo.

I can see what you mean by it looking sketchy. The actual alien was added sort of last mitute and as a fun little experiment for me. I just ended up liking though. I've been working on it's background though for about six days. I hadn't considered touching that up because I originally liked the dark sureal look of it that the rougness of the scan seemed to contribute to. I certainly could use some practice with lighting. I need to add highlights and maybe I can find a way to incorporate lens flair.

The alien I will deffinently work on. I might just end up doing something completely different for the face since "gentle looking" wasn't exactly what I was going for. I essentially wanted a clawed sinewy body with a subtle face and blindingly luminous eyes.

I guess "would you use is as a wallpaper" was the wrong question. Is it okay? That's what I should've asked. What do you guys thing in general about it?
