The title : " Se on kovaa peli kun herroja tehdn " - something my grandpa never forgets to mention every time we go to see him.
I'm off to buy some candy.
Edit : and hey, crits would be more than appreciated - theres something not quite right about this image that I can't figure out.

Great pic, Klaivu, i love the expression on the main figure. the only thing that is possibly "not quite right" is the position of the kid on the left.. feels uncomfortable this close to the edge of the image. |

Heh, kovaa pelihn se. Hieno tulkinta. Looks great. Crits: The neck and the neckline area of the big bird looks somehow unfinished compared to the rest of the pic. Maybe there should be some noticeable fluffiness, feather silhuette, against the red coat in the neck area. I agree with Bilbo on the leftmost kid too.

maybe if you tried overlapping the third stork (?) over the rest of them it would be a more engaging design? |

This reminds me of the old Duck Tales cartoon- Scrooge McDuck and his nephews Huey, Louie, and Dewey. Though those aren't ducks. Great work! |

lol, yeah it reminded me of Ducktales right away, I love this image though, I agree about that 1st stork being too much to the left far from the other dorks...er...storks ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

I think this looks really nice, klaivu.
I have a couple of ideas on what maybe bothering you.
The background is very foggy and diffuse, but the lighting on the characters is from a point source.
The contrast ratio of the feathers is very large. The local value of the feathers is very light, so it will be the lightest in light and in shadow. So the beak shadow value is nice and light, as it should with the reflected light from the feathers, but the shadow area of the feathers goes black. Add to this the diffuse light (meaning that the light is coming from all around as it is being diffused through the fog) and I think the feather shadow is way too dark. And when you lighten it up, you can place with color bounce as well.
You might want to lighten up the red vest of grandpa just a little to get the foreground ducks to separate a little
Just some ideas… |

Sacrelicious : Well, it's a rich capitalist duck, isn't it ?
Thank you for the comments everyone !
I'll fix the neck + composition + values tomorrow - too confused and tired right now to understand text or draw ( I had to read spooges comment three times before i could understand it .. :/ ) |

terrific work, man. love it a lot
i think the BG looks too detached and seperated from the figures. that's the only thing that bothers me for real. maybe of the the houses closer to the birds where more contrasted, less defused and had stronger colors it looked better...
just some thoughts... but what do i know
great picture. |
