I liked this sketch Isric posted and thought it would look good with some color. I took some liberties with the drawing, but hopefully I still kept his original intention.
Here's the sketch:

Hey Sedone, I really love what you've done with the pic You've captured the mood well, and I really like your subtle colour choices. |

yah the legs do look a bit flat, maybe you could increase the color saturation... make the colors look ... "Deeper" in that area |

Nice work! Love the colors. 2 things though.
1) The legs. I think you just didn't spend enough time on them. They look unfinished.
2) The background. I know you just threw something down fast. But watch your strokes. If they wrap around the figure it can flatten the picture. Try and run your strokes 'through' the figure. I attatched a quick example.

Oh wow. Sedone, that's beautiful. You really grabbed a whole new side to it. Great colors, and the liberties you took are gorgeous. Thanks |

Cool, I'm glad you guys like it. I was trying to get a pastel look with Photoshop. In some parts it worked, but overall it's really tedious to do. I know, those legs ! They really didn't look too bad to me until the very end, at which point my patience was running out. I'll have to fix it. The biggest challenge was trying to get a painterly feel from Isric's cartoony style, plus I have a lot to learn about painting in general.
Kaare, thanks for the tip!
Isric, I'm glad you like it. That cat's cute. |
