Well, here goes... It's far from ready but i got very bored of it. I'm so busy with my job (^#%$# web design) that I have about 1-2 free hours per 3-4 days, and havta stop painting at about 4am in order to be able to go to work at 8 somehow :))And that fragmented painting really kills my pleasure of it :(
That's why I wanted to make this portrait really "broken". Not quite caring about global lighting and shading and shapes - but for independent groups of details, not quite fitting the whole image :) Somehow it became sorta robochick :( Well, what the hell :)
If anyone cares: it's 100% made in Photoshop - from sketch to end, with an A6 (4"x5")Graphire tablet. This is the full-size image - my PC will die if i try painting a bigger one :) I used a photo for reference (she was too tired to pose) and didnt have any concept at all - dint know what to do - just painted... when i dint like the result, i started the segment all over. Except for the last parts, when i was so eager to finish it and so bored that I... well, you'll recognize these parts :) 3:36am now, gotta go to work soon, tomorrow if i have time i'll start colouring NukleoN's orc, whose line art he generously let me colour... 10x again NukleoN, I hope I don't do serious damage to this wonderful orc (like i did to my girlfriend's face) :)))

Wow! Nice and sharp work! And look at the details, very cool.
You could do some cleaning up with some of the areas (f.ex. the left side edge of the face) but that's definitely not necessary. |

Of course you're right... I haven't done almost anything on the left side, the chin, the neck, from the nose above, etc... well, the hell with it |

10x
I know it looks like crap as a whole, my idea (which i didn't complete very good) was to make small sections of good-looking er... thingies Like the small ball on the nose... But... well..
And as for colours- i decided to make it monochrome - wanted to make the different materials look different by the way they reflect light and stuff... |

What can I say?
The pic rules.
I'm especially impressed by the left eye, because that's where the organic and inorganic seem to mix best... In my opinion at least. The neck wigs me out as well, just creepy.
As for points of improvement? Can't think of anything, beyond the blurred upper-right corner. It distracts from the intricate detail of the face and mechanics. Whether this is intentional or not, I do not know.
That good enough for a reply, Morgoth? |

10x guys :)
Etict: sure, 3d model it, and I'll paint the texture ;)) Lemme see how many of the details you can make with geometry ;)
shardik: No, that's not my gf. That's a PORTRAIT of her ;) Even a circle for head and two dots for eyes can be a portrait. :PPP
DiXter: yes, you're right, I already explained why i didnt finish these parts you're talking about :) |

Hey you know, I wonder what she'll think when she sees all those neck folds?
"I'm not that fat!"
