It's Matthew Broderick from the movie " Glory" on a Chocobo....hahaha...jus kiddin
it is a really good pic man. the wings seem weird to me though. And I can't picture the way tha rider is sitting on the bird....
cross-legged? Or is He standing?

I think the pic would really benefit from a more carefully thought lighting. It looks like a sunny day, although the sun could be blocked by clouds.
Your colors look like something taken out of a coloring book: bird=yellow, grass=green, sky=blue, even though varying the colors and melting some parts into each other would make it look more interesting.
I tried something like that on the overpaint. warning: may or may not be helpful.
(didn't wanna touch the stuffed toy animal, it looks too cool :)

Poprocksz: ah, well, i got fed up with the anime-style head he had earlier. Ouch, got me on the sitting problem
Gecko: Thanks for the overpaint, the coloring book look was somewhat intended, since I had bold outlines on the pic earlier, taking 'em out caused a loss of some cartoony quality. And I do need to study lighting more, it's just too easy to go with the basic overcast light from top left corner behind the pov -setup.
