These boys are returning to base after patrol
duty at the outskirts of sector 3456.3/gxw356.
Any critisicm is welcome, as I'm striving to become better day by day. org. res is 5000*3000, first pic I've made with a digitizer.

if those things on the right are supposed to be the transport vehicle things, i think they should stand out more, i barely noticed them. it might be cool to have a big one in the foreground maybe? |

Hey Snowman!
I imagine the things on the right to be beacons placed along the coastline for easy navigation . I'm abit confused about the transport question, as I don't recall writting anything about transporters ?
Maybe I should place an object in the foreground for more depth.
tnx! |

bahh.... first of all you got your right and left messed up, i hope you are 7 or something...for your sake. The beacons are on the left, our left, the ships on the right, our right, and they are barelly noticable, expecially the one in the distance. You got to work a lot more on composition of the ships, making htem brighter just won't work. I'd also fix the design, they look like flying volvos right now...that, or a cardboard box. The beacons also need some work, and I'd also add some more atmosphere to the landscape. nuf ranting....
edit: bahh forgot the good stuf I like the landscape and the depth that it gives, the water looks cool too, but again, it could use more detail, something more to stand out, the green planes look to perfect, add some color variation. doh...ranting again, sorry

You have good concept here, and one that is really flexible in terms of what you can do with it... there are many ways to paint your idea.. I do like the way that you have tried to create a sense of scale... that is commendable.. well done. I like the fact that there is lots of scenery, and those beacons are good too. I think that the grass.. is just too perfect.. the valley is way to green and lush... consider that you may want to include some other sorts of vegetation.. like flowers, trees, bushes.. and add some dirt and rocks.. I am referring to the right (our right)... of the valley.. the left and closest part of it seems to be ok..
Does grass grow on a vertical? well no, and you should have thought of that before applying it to such a steep mountain... you should have done some rocks here, as it looks steep enough to be classed as a cliff.. Perhaps you just tried to generalise that area, and say.. 'eh.. its in the distance..it'l be ok.'
Your ships, beng the main focus.. In my opinion need some work.. My guess is, and in my experience as a begginer.. that you have done simple shaped ships.. because you are only starting out... and perspective and complex shapes are difficult...
Try doing a little bit more work on them.. they just seema bit plain... I also noticed that they had no obvious propulsion system.. any thrusters? that would generate an afterburner...
or are they a glider type aircraft..? anything is possible..
Really well done picture for your first with a "digitizer' <<a tablet?
So well done... I hope to see more from you. I reckon you have got talent.. I'll look forward to seeing your progress. |

Ok. thanks for taking time to critique the picture.
You're absolutely right, I'll make these adjustments and try a new design for the ships.
Btw: actually I'm nine and a half- and if you look closely to the right, you'll see a line of beacons following the coastline
Once again tnx for the time, hope to post again soon! |

i liked the scape 10x better without the futuristic ships\beacons. they just seem cheap and out of place. yes, that was harsh, but i'm in love with the rest of the image :] |
