new piece. But everyone seems to think the black space is too empty but I don't know what to put. Everything seems to detract. sigh. |

How about something like this?
I think all you need is something very simple. Go for something that isn't very bright, or very saturated, and it won't take away as much of the viewer's attention. Plus, you can use the background to direct the viewer's attention even further.
On my version, for instace, the band of horizontal shapes in the background adds a lot more compositional weight to the girl's mid-section - probably not a good move, since her face is more important. But at least you can see how you can subtley move the viewer's attention around, while not detracting TOO much from the detail. |

very cool. in the background, i think you should put some very small, dark green falling code. it would give it a much more martix-ish look. you can get a pic to use from the matrix webapge (download the screen saver, and take a screenshot of it).
also, i think you should get rid of (or fade) the girl's nipple... its way too easy to see, and it was the first think my eyes landed on when i saw that pic (that wasn't a good thing). use shading to define the breasts more, and get rid of the nip
otherwise, its a great picture! i like it a lot, really |

Yeah - waylon is right ... simple - even a gradient might do!
Nice pic! |
