Okay...This is, I think, the first image I've done in AGES that I've looked at and said to myself: "Congratulations, Socar. This is a really pretty picture." So I figured I'd stick it up here and let you guys put me in my place.

And then there's this. It's a sketchy background...and I forgot what I was going to put in the foreground. What should I put in the foreground?

Oh, yes. To everyone who e-mailed me wishing me luck in finding a new job--thanks very much--I appreciate your thoughts. I'm just taking all the freelance work I can for now, and hopefully I'll settle on something more permanent soon.

I love the first one. Very striking and bold. Especially with the black shadow against the white. Although I might suggest loosing some of that black underneath the...thing...so that it looks more like a cast shadow then there being 2. I hope that makes sense. iF it doesn't oh well, no biggie. Still a kick ass pic.

What to put in front of the tree? A green monkey...duh.

Hmm...how about tacking up a couple direction signs to the tree. 2 little wooden things pointing in either direction. One could say "Grandma's house" and put a hint of an evil wolf lurking in the background.

Nice, very nice. I really like the first one. But it is pretty hard to see the character, he blends into the background way to much. I really like what you did with the black frayed cloth and the contrast there, maybe a similar concept could be employed for the character.

For the background, do a slan hero. Or a sleeping dwarf with a long, long beard. Like Rip Van Winkle.

Nice.
you really got a lot of detail in there, and nice use of colours.
Keep up the good work.

Well, as I've already said elsewhere, that... thing is pretty much the most wonderful thing you've ever done, in my eyes.

But that said... damn, that tree picture is gorgeous! It almost makes me want to go and frollic through the woods... if it weren't so bloody hot, and if I were a frollicer. *nods*
